420/150 - sip compressor 150ltr - Sibton

Can you please tell me how I find out the direction of the compressor fan of my sip compressor 150ltr workshop series 420/150?

I have purchased a Clarkes replacement 3hp motor that has is default as unti-clockwise

If I look at the front of the fan the fins angle in to the left

Turn the big wheel by hand,

an compressor functions a lot like an engine,

an induction valve opens to allow filtered air into the cylinder which then compress the air until a valve opens to let the "exhaust" charcge the reserveoir.

So all you need to see is the valves opening/closing,

Valves on compressors aren't like vehicle engine valves they are usually diaphragm or spring loaded disc valves-it doesn't matter which way the big wheel turns except that there may be an oil slinger on the end of the conrod to splash oil up the cylinder.

I can now see an arrow on the flywheel pointing left so do I presume it is running counter clockwise?

Depends if the arrow is at the top or bottom of the flywheel if you see what I mean-just use the arrow to indicate direction of rotation.
