A friend has a 2007 vw polo 1.4 tdi with an engine start issue. He had the AA look at it, but the guy just said it had dropped an injector and was only running on 3 cyliders, the car only has 3 cylinders anyway!!! So fat lot of good he was.

Basically, the engine turns but will not fire. He initially got it started, but it ran lumpy at idle, but was ok at high rpm. When he let it return to idle, it then died and could not be restarted.

Also, he would like to know where the fuel pump lives? Any info would be gratefully appreciated.
