Do I have grounds to reject my faulty car?

I was sold a Range Rover Velar in December 2024, on the day of collection an hour into the drive home the engine light came on. I reported this immediately and was asked to drive it home and bring the car back as soon as I can. I brought the car back 2 days later and they said they would fix the issue, I agreed. They took the car for a week and I got it back Christmas eve, however not all the work they had promised was done so they gave me the remaining parts to be fitted and asked me to take a quote from somewhere local to me and they would cover the costs. They rejected the quotes I received locally claiming they were too expensive. 2 weeks of use following their first 'fix' of the engine light issue, it had come on again. I informed them and explained I depend on the car for work and this is unacceptable, they informed me that they can fix the issue with the engine light and attach all the remaining parts too and I agreed, 2 weeks later I get the car back and then another 13 days later the light came on again. At this point I asked to return the vehicle (February). They Refused to take the car back. According to the CRA 2015 am I able to claim a full refund or would they be able to charge for usage of the vehicle?

You can read our comprehensive guide to rejecting a car here - www.honestjohn.co.uk/advice/car-buying-advice/how-.../ but you have taken the right steps in giving the dealer the opportunity to repair the vehicle (more than once) but they have failed to fix the issue. We would expect the dealer to offer a partial refund based on how much use you have had out of the vehicle, so we would suggest noting down how many miles you have covered and the days where you have not had access to the vehicle as grounds for negotiation.
