Berlingo erlingo Multispace - Aircon recharge Overfilled? Any aircon specialists - cascas

I have just had my aircon recharged (first time since new 4yr) using a Texa Konfort machine (fully automated) The report shows, 520g recycled, 1g oil recycled. Oil Injection 1cc UV Injection 5cc, AC Fill 500gram The manufacturer states a gas amount of 450g +/- 25gram. Is there any other explination (other than the system was overfilled in the first place), to collect 520grams from a system that should be no more than 475g, Is a 500gr charge likely to cause a problem? Should I go back?

500 gms in this system is unlikely to cause any problems. The extra gas recovered may have been from residual gas in the charge machine pipework.hth

Does anyone access to the tech info, for how much as should be put in, as there is not a label in the engine bay.

I have questioned this with the garage, who now say they went off the autodata information which shows 450g +/- 50gram, but they have spoken to citroen technical who say it should actually have 560gram, and now they want to add more again. They also say their training department say on any vehicle you can add an extra 50 grams to reach the optimum temperature so this would not cause any damage.

The recharge machine manufactuer has confirmed that the built in database shows 450g, so I am not sure why the the garage has used autodata, and then decided to fill to the upper level.

Can anyone confirm the correct amount, as I am not convinced that 560g is correct.

As above will not make the slightest difference why worry.

There will be a label (usually on the bonnet slam panel) stating the fill requirements (this label is required by ece regulations)

Frankly, though, 10% on the fill level is neither here nor there. Just enjoy your super cool car now the weather is starting to improve!

It can't be dangerous because the system has an over-pressure switch which will cut system operation should it become necessary, but it would have to be overfilled more than this IMO.

There does not appear to be a label on the Berlingo. Other Berlingo owners have reported that they do not have a label also. So either citroen didnt fit one, or hid it.

I have checked with Citroen UK, who advise that it should be 450 +- 25g. As 520g and 500g charged, there is less in than before, and yet cooling is better. Therefore it looks like it was previously overcharged.

Is it normal for too much gas to cause a reduction in cooling?

French cars rarely have an a/c charge quantity sticker under the bonnet. The gas charge is fairly critical ,that is why the makers give around a 5% margin .Too much gas in the system is the same as not enough and the system will not operate efficiently.hth
