We are a 3 car family. A fancy convertible for summer, a cheapo run around small petrol hatchback thats worth nothing, and a medium sized petrol SUV thats does 30 mpg and has high tax.
The convertible is summer use mainly and does under 2k miles a year, the hatchback is the runaround, 5k and the SUV when needed...towing 2 ton, using the cargo space, longer trips, maybe 2k a year.... Read more
Hi All,
After some advice. My local road (A38) Mansfield has an average speed limit of 50 mph with average speed cameras. One of the sets of lights along this stretch used to have a red light camera (been there for years) now it seem they have swapped it out for a 30 mph speed camera. The stretch of road is less than 200 yds from where the 'New' 30 MPH sign has gone up until the lights. After the lights is back into 50mph average. So my question is: Is it legal to have 2 speed restrictions along the same stretch of road. This seems to be a money generation scheme rather than a safety one? Read more

I have made enquiries with several manufacturers/suppliers to try and find the correct grade of oil for my car above without success. Several have suggested that due to insufficient information from Porsche it is recommended to use a dealer part only. I rang them today to ask if they supplied litre bottles (I need 3) but they only had 20 litre containers in stock at £566 plus v.a.t.! How have other readers got an appropriate grade please? Regards. Thank you all.
Afternoon all!
Wondering if I can get your perspective on buying a crossover SUV.
I've settled on two cars based on the availability near me (Ireland) and pricing. A 2020 Toucson (1.6 diesel) and a 2018/2019 Maxda CX-5 (2l petrol, heard nightmares about their diesels)
I can get them for roughly the same price, Maza tends to have higher mileage due to age difference.
Can anyone recommend what they would choose and why as I'm looking to buy very soon? Thanks! Read more
I spent years thinking it was Tuscon!
Don't worry - you weren't the only one! One's a bad spelling of foods coming from a region of Italy, the other (the actual car) a city in Arizona. :-)

Hi,
I'll try to keep a very long story short. You will clearly see I am not in the slightest mechanically minded!... Read more
If sufficient water is sucked into the engine then it will hydrolock. If a small amount gets into the engine (but not enough to hydrolock) then maybe there would be sufficient oil contamination by the water to cause lubrication problems a few months later.

The best approach for addressing the multiple error codes on your Citroen C4 Grand Picasso after a gearbox replacement involves a systematic check of the entire system. First, ensure that all installed components, especially the gearbox and ABS pump, are properly coded to the vehicle's ECU.
It is critical to use a diagnostic tool to verify that there are no faults in the system communication and that each component is recognized and functioning within specifications.
Hi,
Just got given a fusion 2010 petrol 1.4 with 145k
Looked under the bonnet and appears that an air hose of some sort is missing
It’s the one on the right hand side as you look at the engine, think it just clips onto the engine cover?
Not sure what the actual part is called as I know nothing about cars! Any help would be appreciated- if I knew how to post a picture on here I’d do that as well!
Thanks for looking Read more
It’s the air intake pipe for the air filter . Not over important, so I wouldn’t worry to much about it being missing.
The news pictures showed serious building damage and landslides.
I hope our regular contributor there (edlithgow) has not suffered injury or loss.... Read more
Whilst there was a lot of damage, 2400 people died during the last one, i think it was 1999. They have come on leaps and bounds now and the buildings conform to extremely strict building standards now. Unlike Turkey!
Comparisons to other regions like Turkey can be insightful in highlighting the importance of stringent building regulations in mitigating the impact of natural disasters. Let's continue to learn from past experiences and work towards creating safer environments for all.
I see M-B are now also on the naughty step -

Interesting thought Ian. But we were just thinking of running the heap into the ground.....and when it dies and goes off to car heaven, replace it with a decent 1 litre Tsi summit...Fabia estate...ish.
