While the condition based usage adopted by Mini & BMW can be useful if you are a low mileage driver, there is a massive flaw in the system.
Last year we bought a 'new', unregistered F55 Cooper S, reg in June. Today, the oil change warning appeared on the Mini app. Mini recommend 18000 miles/2 years as their limit.... Read more
Idly browsing Autotrader I found myself wondering what was the least amount of money I'd need to pay for 300bhp. Which of course led to wondering how much more power would cost, then more again.
So, 300bhp(*)?: 202106133793542... Read more
I saw that one. It really needs to be a bright red or black.
It's all a dream though, I need something boring and reliable at the mo. Perhaps when I am retired and can afford to have a car off the road for a while whilst I get it fixed. ...
Hello

I am halfway buying a new vehicle so should be able to go online to retain I have then got a message that I need to send it in old school through the post. I contacted them they advised that this is due to my vehicle not being taxed on the previous registration by the previous owner within five years now have wait for 3 to 4 weeks before I can collect my vehicle as dealership wants original plate on vehicle. ... Same thing happened to us a few months ago . My wife wanted to sell her Fiat which had a private plate . Had to go through the same old school procedures to transfer it to the new car . What I don’t get ,is we managed to put the private plate onto the Fiat without any trouble.
I heard about this a while ago and thought it's a step in the right direction:
Local people are touring my area in wagons looking for scrap metal. It has become local practice to leave things outside the house for these people to collect. One or two also go around with a megaphone shouting for scrap, a bit like the old days ala Steptoe with the Horse and Cart.

Sad to say my lovely ex Mgdealers have given up selling new MG cars.
Part of MG now getting rid of smaller dealers?... Read more
Most prestige brands require that you as a dealer invest in a glass palace with carpets, leather sofas, complimentary coffee and glamorous receptionists on an expensive site with a lot of passing trade, while they continue to screw you over with their stocking plans, and purchase discounts.
Yes, I've been there both with a manufacturer and as a dealer but not in the car trade and I got out with my shirt intact....
Nearside internal door opening lever has stopped working, it just hangs loose. 3 days out of warranty too. I rang up Mercedes to get one and was told you have to buy the whole door card at the best part of a grand! ouch. Read more
No need to buy the complete door card. As I posted further up, the door handle is available as a genuine Mercedes part (Part No. A2137602100).That is for 'selected AMG models' - possibly not suitable for OP's car......

Some good news but as the article states, this needs to be just the beginning of the UK's battery capability. Read more
If cars need to be built here and the economy to thrive, looking to block access will not sort the driver's shortage or any other role for that matter.
For the love of puppies, c19 was not the reason for the economy shrinking! Why would you say that?...
My 2008 OPEL COMBO 1.3 CDTI COMBO-C-VAN 1245cc 75hpd makes a wooshing noise, as if high pressure air was leaking, from engine bay while driving, from a certain load and RPM and upwards, for example at 4th gear / 80kmh / 3500 rpm or 5th gear the same rpm. Disappears immediately when releasing the trottle pedal even slightly or pressing the clutch. Also disappears / greatly lessens when increasing the trottle, but then builds back up quickly when holding the new trottle state. Started after a long highway trip (~100km) at 5th gear and about 3000-3500 rpm. Recent oil change, (not that i suspect that to be a factor really)
Stopped briefly to check, no leaks of any fluid, no visible changes under the bonnet. Dripped some water on the turbo, no heat. I wonder if that is right though, if it souldnt be at least a bit hot after a long trip at 3000 - 3500 rpm ?
Engine light came on towards the end of the trip. I have not had a chance to get the error codes read. I know i need to do that.
Do i have a broken turbo? EGR? Do i have to prepare to get a new car? Its mileage is about 235000 kilometers... Read more
Its larger than 1, its probably about 3mm.
Yes it gets quite hot and the pressure air inside the manifold seems to make its way trough several attempts using polyuretane glue. ...
Just seems too little to late. The British Government are rubbish at investing in the manufacturing industry and have to rely on Manufacturers from other countries having the B--ls to invest here. I believe Tesla are looking at a new Giga factory here in the UK but in Somerset !!! the minister for industry obi one conobi hasn't a clue, all manufacturing should be situated in the North especially the North East, good work force, cheap land and access to numerous ports for the EU. The only positive I heard for the Somerset site was it was close to the M5 one of the most jammed up motorways in the summer months. These ministers should go to the university of common sense and take along some of the people that work for health and safety.
The government won't back UK firms but will give the likes of Nissan and Peugeot ( Vauxhall) millions of UK taxpayers money, again makes no sense especially as all profits go to their countries coffers not ours. Read more

There's some excellent (american) clips on youtube showing what the inside of engines look like after extended periods without oil changes. Search " customer states".
