Quite good but quite a pricy Chinese charger, and testing seems to show the "äbsolutely zero overcharge"" manufacturers jive to be...er.. manufacturers jive....
Evening all, had good advice here is past and wandered if anyone knows how to fix this one?

Why are petrol prices os jog in London, in particular South West London. I have seen on average Doesal at 134 per litre and has high as 139p per lite. Yet Sainsburys in Cobham of all places 130pper later and on Purley Way 129p. I have witnessed localised monopolies and cartels operated by franchised operators. Often you see Shell and Esso pumps priced high. Read more

Brexit continuing to deliver! Vauxhall Electric Vans to be built in Ellesmere Port!
It's certainly good news about the Vauxhall announcement, the extent to which Brexit played a part, well people will have their own views on that.
I think we've probably extracted anything of value from the discussions so before the thread decays too much I'm locking it.
Is it just me or is the advice being given on "Ask HJ" pretty poor? I've just looked at Dan Powell's reply about a garage charging 45ppm for depreciation on a faulty used car. He seems to think 45ppm is ok as it's the HMRC rate BUT that rate is for drivers using cars for work so has a large proportion of that 45pence per mile to cover fuel, insurance and tax. The depreciation element is only a fraction of 45p per mile but he doesn't even consider that.

Re: Dan Powell and Nissan Note Tyre wear 3.11.21
I have to take issue with Dan on his reply - his statements are, generically true. But, I had a Note Diesel for 6 years and managed to get 40k miles out of a set of tyres....
In the now closed thread on Enforcement of minor infractions somebody complained of being unjustly pinged for exceeding the 50 limit on the QE2 bridge. The gist of the gripe was that the camera angles were incapable of detection the infraction.
Travelling that route on Friday I had the opportunity to check. ... Read more
I can't remember the last time I used this crossing and was able to reach 50mph, let alone exceed it.
The traffic congestion is always worse going northbound, on entry to the tunnels speed is often at a crawl, but a little faster on exit. With the bridge this is slightly less of a problem. ...

I think the last time the subject of cleaning cats came up, the thread attracted, well, shall we say some strongly opposing views...
I wouldn't think a cat for a Ford is going to be too expensive, if the rest of the car is good then it might pay to get it replaced?
I have inherited a set of 25 road test reports from "The Motor" dated 1960 / 1961. They cover a range of cars such as Renault R8, Citroen DS and Safari, Hilman Husky.
If anyone is interested in them I would be happy to post them on as a single batch.... Read more
I am sure you will get a few interested members, there were for Avant's magazines which I intend going to collect once it's sensible to do so regarding Covid rules.
