Can it be done? Can anyone recall another brand that has gone from worst to even average?

I have just bought a brand new Seat Leon £17K, to buy the hybrid version £31K, To buy the Cheapest EV £26K, a reasonable EV £30-40K. After 4 years these Ev's will be out of date with cheaper cars and double the mileage. So I'm waiting. To lease a basic Tesla is nearly £465 a month x 36 months = nearly £17 K Top spec £669 x 36 = £24K and after 3 years you have no car. makes no sense and nearly all EV's come with keyless entry just look to the right of this and see the article of Keyless entry thefts rising. It's very interesting that technology is rapidly evolving, but you know what's most interesting is how the Counter Strike 2 stats site is evolving.
Hello,
I Purchased the above vehicle with only 4000 miles on the clock, and it is supposed to have autonomous braking. It is switched on according to the very complicated multimedia screen, but there is no evidence that it is working. I have tried with great care approaching the car in front without braking myself, but at the last minute, I have had to brake myself. I have tried it with cruise control on and off, but still the car doesn't slow itself down!! Can anybody help??... Read more
Many thanks for your detailed reply!! I have read the book, and to be honest, it it ridiculously complicated, constantly saying "if my vehicle applies" to just about every single item in the book. My partner has a 7.5 Golf and what you write, is absolutely right, and I am sure the Renault system is very similar. I firmly believe that there is something wrong, and will just have to drive them mad, until this is sorted!! The warranty is very much still in existence. Many thanks, again!
It usual costs around £10 to repair a puncture and around £30 (?) to get a tyre replaced with a used tyre (balanced and new valve if needed). This is if you go in to the garage.

Sticky string tyre plug kits cost about 2 quid for enough to do 10 tyres. Dunno if you can still get them in the famously anal UK but you certainly used to be able to, since they featured in my Triumph Herald handbook.
I used them a lot on my Sierra DOHC here in Taiwan, which seemed to pick up a lot of nails, possibly because I was parking on campus and failing a lot of students in those days....
Instead of locking brexit threads, which is a little bit draconian in my humble opinion, why not move them to general?
Not intended as a criticism, I think you are doing a good job as mods which can be a thankless task, so thank you! But good threads can end up being locked too early and it stifles the OPs original post. Read more
Yebbut,
Brexit, whatever you think of it and how it came about is the most significant change in this country since whenever. Entry was a big step but given the incremental changes during our membership leaving is much bigger....
Hi, I recently changed the front calipers on my fiesta and used the 2 person bleeding method. The fluid level accidently dropped below minimum very slightly. I topped it back up and carried on bleeding. Will this have caused air too go into the master cylinder or the abs module?
Thank you Read more
Pad quality shouldn't really change with wear until they either (a) get contaminated or (b) reach the steel backing plate.
Enema syringe is a good cheap one-man brake flushing device which gives complete control.
If reports in the press are correct we can waive bye-bye to the traditional GB sticker and hello to a new UK sticker instead. This is to enhance the position of Northern Ireland as part of the UK. Not sure how it will impact Jersey. Guernsey and Isle of Man which if my memory serves me well used to use GBJ, GBG and GBM respectively, presumably they will change too.
(For those unsure about a GB sticker, before EU membership and EU number plates all vehicles had to display a GB sticker when overseas. EU number plates changed that requirement, no need to use the sticker if the plate had an approved EU style indicator) Read more
I agree so I've locked it, despite it starting innocently enough however.
Hi all,
My heated windshield is not working, but both 30amp fuses (one for each side) are not blown.... Read more
Yep, thanks for that. I've never had a total failure though on any Ford I've had. Mostly it's been individual vertical elements that go open circuit, ot occasionally, blocks of them.
I'll meter the live side of th fuses next and if they're both getting a supply, I'll meter at the feed to the elements, as you suggest........ebt
I have just noticed that there is what appears to be scuffing around the outside and inside edges/shoulders of all my tyres. There is a brown band around the tyres which I assume is caused by excess wear. The car is less than a year old and has only done 1700 miles. The tyres are Bridgestone Turanza 215x55x18. I have read that this could be due the pressures being low, however, I always keep them at exactly the recommended pressure of 36psi or even slightly above. The car has recently come back from being repaired after a rear side shunt but I cant think how this could affect all the tyres in exactly the same way. Any advice welcome. Read more
Worth checking the wheel alignment? I don't know about the CX30, but the Mazda 6 can have al four wheel aligned.
Also possibly tyre pressure, I was advised to keep the Mazda 6 tyre at the 'full laden' pressures, and find that has improved tyre wear without compromising performance.
To say driving a train is somehow easier than driving a wagon doesn't consider one aspect of train driving which freaks out many trainees.

Toyota usually get into partnerships less so buying other makes.
As the new Boss path is less quantity and more quality, maybe reliability will be high on their agenda. Too late for the big US market where the JLR brand is at the pits due to to the Yanks ranking reliability higher than quality.
