Hi,

Question - if a factory 4WD car is made FWD by removal of the propshaft, for whatever reason (failed transfer box/economy etc) does that constitute an MOT failure? ... Read more

Thanks. I daringly dipped into the detailed Gov MOT guidance and it seems that a working drivetrain and transmission, free of any play and not causing alerts on the dashboard, is not a fail.

Thanks RT. By the look of things it will be 2022 before we probably get full access to Europe again, by which time maybe all the hype and hysteria will have abated.

Bangernomics, but not as I know it.

I doubt that will happen, as with an MOT emissions are part of the cars roadworthiness, I suspect electrical efficiency will take its place, ie, the more miles to the KWH or something like that, the better chance it has of passing an MOT making it impossible to do any cheap repairs to a car in case the repairs make it less efficient...

Over the last few months we have read plenty about how useless this app is despite Boris promising we would have a world leading system working in June. Never downloaded it, not needed to until last week following the MIL's positive test last week.

Having been responsible for the last years of both my parents, involving hospital stays and discharge into a nursing home for my mother (who died soon afterwards) I read this with much concern.

Hospitals get it wrong sometimes. My mother was kept in for weeks longer than necessary - the opposite of your situation....

Hi need help choosing my next car, I have a Nissan Qashqai Acenta 1.6 mileage not great average 35mpg. Very comfortable drive but my partner wants to start driving again so we would like a much smaller high position driving car or SUV . Smaller in length to Qashqai. Car is 10 years old with high mileage so time to change. We have two small terriers and love driving to Lake District and Scotland but need good economy and reliability. Also we drive up pot hole farm tracks to do dog walks but don’t want a 4x4 . Nissan has been marvellous on that front but we need to go smaller but still want comfortable drive in long journeys . Any ideas ? Thank you Read more
