Did you see the video today of the Tesla 3 blindly ploughing into a overturned van in Taiwan. It seems obvious that the car was on autopilot as the cars sensors failed to detect the roof of the overturned van until it was on top of it and buried itself into the roof. The driver of the van can be seen trying to flag the Tesla down and the car had an excellent field of vision. Does this mean that the Tesla's sensors only pick up and recognise the rear of vehicles? It seems almost criminal to allow automated vehicles on the road as they can never be 100% reliable Read more
In the last could couple of days I ordered a roof rack/bars for my Astra K hatchback. The credit card has been charged but I didn't get a confirmatory email and the website is more permanently down ( www.genvuci.com )
Anyone used these people and if so were they Ok?... Read more

I've read the article on the website about those who took the opportunity to "make hay while the sun shone":

There are race tracks you can hire to indulge the 'need for speed'.
Wouldn't work. Racetracks have pesky corners and the muppets who drive like idiots on the road have no actual skill when it comes to those....
Two blokes I know do nothing to their cars, zilch, nada, a Mazda Mx5 20 years old and a Jag S type pretty old. Jag cost about £800 and has merrily gone on for two years or so. Jag guy just runs them til they break and buys another, how they don't just stop running I don't know. Read more
I once bought a Fiesta Flight 1.3 for 500 quid.
Filled it up with petrol and drove 220 miles to my sister's in Glasgow....
Are the RHD UK transit connect / Tourneo Connect made in Turkey or Spain?

Though so.
16 week wait if ordering a non UK stock vehicle
I don't like that 'new' (copied) front and rear bumper styling - too fussy and looks like a 'yoof' modded car, rather like the current generation Honda Civic Type R. No 'style' about it at all. Fast/sporty cars used to be great looking, now they are all about looking 'mean' and, IMHO, ugly. Read more
I am not a fan of fake vents and grilles. And that huge "Kidney" grille? Just too big and ugly. I quite often think that BMW stylists must turn up for work tapping their white sticks along the wall to find the door.
I like and respect Suzuki models. That's despite the Swift Sport being priced way too high for what it was when first launched, but a succession of obscenely priced supermini launches from other manufacturers since has conned people into thinking it now represents good value for money (before this much more expensive hybrid version came to light).
I can't see anything beneficial for customers from these changes that are just a fiddle to achieve emissions regulations. More to go wrong, slower, heavier and much more expensive - that the slightly increased mpg will never compensate for.
Such a shame.

A totally ridiculous price for a car that’s cheaply mass produced in India.
I've been tempted by the Kia Picanto GT-Line turbo for a while now as there seems to be some good discounts available. I also like the look of the Hyundai i10 N Line but news on the launch of that car has dried up and no doubt it will be a lot more expensive than people expect.
So this new Picanto looked interesting, until I saw the styling of the GT Line model. The front is a bit too fussy with pointless bits of plastic here and there, but the worst thing is the false tailpipes out the back!
The whole thing looks tacky when it doesn't need to, as lesser spec versions look quite good.

Doesnt that apply to every manufacturer... especially those "premium" brands offering just a 3 year warranty on their over-rated (usually German) overweight posemobiles....

Ordered Audi A3 on the 31 January 2021 build week 37 and is still in build and the dealer is saying delivery end of November.
I have phoned Audi Germany and Audi UK and asked the reason for nearly a year to get a car and all they say its due to coronavirus, chip shortage, etc etc zzzzzzzz.
My argument is when i ordered the car the chip shortages hadn't started then.
Just makes me very angry as I asked Audi head office that a large car company cannot give a exact delivery date, All i can think that in the car factory's their must be a lot of part finished parked every where.
Hi everyone.

This is a pic of it.

I think that you have missed the point. The graphics processors are not used for displaying graphics in cars but for shifting huge quantities of data captured by the multitude of onboard sensors required in self driving cars.
I didnt explain myself properly as usual so sorry about that, my point was meant to be that you can have all the processor power you want, the problem comes with the data getting to it and data being transferred to the car components, so unless the processor and memory have multiple/quad lanes-threads the processor could stall waiting for the info it needs which you dont want...
