Hi,
Of late I have had trouble getting mycar into gear, can anyone suggest whats wrong, its particularly difficult in the mornings. Recently the gear box seal was leaking and mechanic said there was only about half a litre left- its now topped up. I was thinking the clutch might be going, but gears do not crunch so don't think its the clutch? they are just lumpy/bumpy to get into gear- bit of a struggle so to speak. Not so hard to change down in gears more up?... Read more
yup,
on mine the 75w-90 oil change causes the gear shift problems,
(on mine and some 106s)
changing to 75w-80 fixes it.
ps see last post here..

If it has the 8 valve engine with no DPF any diesel oil labled CF or higher will do. I use Comma semi synthetic about £12 from Trago Mills.
Hi,
I have two videos for my problem. Shortly, the problem is, when I give right turn signal, the tail light starts blinking too. This doesn't happen on the left side. You will notice that the tail light is dimming each time the turn signal is on. Sometimes the tail light goes off completely during one period of the turn signal. If this happens, I hear buzzer is beeping at the back side of steering wheel.
After some time (~1 min.), the tail light runs like turn signal and the turn signal itself is very weak.

The answer was right on the spot. When I removed the connector, I saw that the ground pin at the male side and it was almost broken in half. I soldered a new cable running from the female connnector directly inside of the bulb holder and it worked like a charm. Excellent help. Thanks a lot.
Looking to buy my first used car other than a £500 banger.
How to check if the car has any outstanding recalls? What happens if you buy a car with an outstanding recall? Will they still be honoured or is there typically a period during which any recall work must be done?... Read more
The Yaris is a good choice. Go for the 1.3 petrol which is much livelier than the 1.0 and not much less economical (as it doesn't have to be worked so hard to make reasonable progress).
I have recently replaced my 2010 Vauxhall Meriva (B) 1.4 140 on

Also might be worth the OP checking to see that the tyres are fitted correctly as they are directional.
I also recall from reading something on this website (it also could be HJ's weekly DT collumn) that sometimes dealerships forget to take off some kind of appendage on the suspension when a car is delivered on a transporter lorry (?) and that can make the car handle badly afterwards until it/they are removed....
Noticed the rubber seal is looking quite dry above the top of the windshield (metal part not sure of name) where the roof fixes down onto it when closed. Can anyone recommend a half decent product to restore the rubber?
Preventative maintenence really as it's not leaking but it does look a little bit perished. Cheers... Read more
Thanks both of you, i'll take a look at both and try one, probably the Gummi Pfledge
Doesn't Jag's on-board computer indicate when service is due? Read more
Its 1 year or 16K miles unless its the 5.0V8 which may be different. The dash tells you when it is due. On mine it was early this year but I just waited until it was almost 1 year.
You can find when it was last done (if you do not know) by registering for Jaguars online service history (osh.jaguar.com). That will also tell you when it is next due. There are 2 alternating services which are basically oil and filter first year then oil, filter, fuel filter, air filter etc on second year.
Can anyone help with the radio code for my ford ka radio serial number V005358 thanks Read more
Sorry but nobody on this forum can give you a "V" code for free.
Ford Main Dealer, Online Radio Code Company or Ebay Sellers who claim they can supply these codes is the only way to go, I'm afraid.
Kwik fit were the same with me, I changed all the front suspension and they did a quick adjustment on it and told me to come back when the suspension bushes had settled down. Couldn't complain at all.
Many years ago I had tracking done at a tyre company in Homesdale road in Bromley and they left the lock nuts loose. I only noticed some time later when I was doing something else to the car.
