Just wondered what happened to the 1.0 litre 3 cylinder supercharged engine that Honda announced in the USA? Read more

Is the petrol version turbocharged? Is four wheel drive an option? Normally aspirated small petrol engines always feel flat when you're used to a turbo. I hope it has both the above or it will be out as far as I'm concerned - diesel is no longer practical due to my low mileage. Read more
I went to the Geneva show specifically to see the HR-V and was somewhat disappointed. The Jazz however was better than I though it might be.
A poor choice of engines and gearboxes. Every market but Europe and Japan gets the 1.8L engine with automatic....
When will this updated Avensis be on sale in the UK? Read more
Am really impressed with the optimism coming from Aston Martin at the moment, compared with when they've been in the doldrums. The DB10, the Track Car and now this, all brings optimism of continuing success for Aston. Great news. Read more
At long last a turbo petrol engine with chain cam. Its what the Duster has needed. But why does the UK have to wait until 2016 for it to go on sale? Read more

This is apparently by Toyota's designers in Nice, France who also did the iQ so if it shares the clever layout and short length then it's a brilliant car
Lexus should build it as is, I'll even forgive their silly non-plug-in hybrid drivetrain as it'll get a lot of use at traffic lights on a city car like this. Read more

Welcome back, Hugo - I seem to remember that some years ago you were one of my predecessors as moderator, along with the zealous Dynamic Dave.
I agre with Leif - find some nearby scrappies and see who'll give you the most. Assuming that the wheels and tyres will be no good for a C4, you could put them on Ebay....

You think I haven't tried that? Honda need a high-power small engine such as VAG's 1.4 TSI (whatever), or the BMW 3 or 4 cylinder one in Minis, Beemers and other cars. If Honda would just fit a small super or turbo charger to the 1.8 it would give it the torque the engine lacks. However, since owning the car and being experienced with VTEC engines I have made it a lot more flexible just by driving close to the red line, accelerating hard in second (on the right roads, naturally). Even so it feels as if something is dampening it especially in third gear and above. Until the revs get to about 4,000 when the cam profile changes and then it's nothing like my old 2.0 VTEC was when you could hear the noise change and feel the kick. It's almost as if the Eco button is still 'on' and I wonder if there is something electronic that Honda have done, probably in the name of economy. If so, I want to 'undo' it.
