Hi,

I currently own a single key for my combo without any central locking fob. From what I can tell there isn't an immobiliser fitted. I want to get another key with a central locking fob that works.

I'm a bit confused with what I need. Can I just get a new fob and transponder then program it to the van following the instructions in the manual or does it need to be programmed with a special computer. I've looked around for a couple of quotes but they've been about £150 for the key and fob supplied and programmed.

Also is it possible I've got an immobiliser chip in the key I own, and is there a way to tell if I have an immobiliser?

Cheers for any help. Read more

Your van will have an immobiliser.

You can only program existing fobs via the method in the handbook. New / replacement fobs will need to be coded via Tech2 or similar diagnostic readers, and this is only for the central locking. You'll need to have the transponder chip programmed separately, again with Tech2 or similar. You will also require the Car Pass for the security numbers.

electric water pump under/next to radiator expansion bottle.
What is the purpose of this electric pump ?
It is connected to the bottom of the expansion bottle via a short hose - then feeds to the main water pump (?)

What happens if it doesn't work ? cause i suspect mine hasn't for some years Read more

Now 60 and have a yearning to have a motorbike again. Not riden for 25 years. Still fit and strong (6'2" and 15 stones). Some training would seem the best option. Also what to buy after the training. Any advice welcomed. Concrete Read more

I'd recommend something like a Kawasaki ER5, a 125 is a horrible thing to learn on, they aren't substantial enough, the rider makes up too much of the total weight. Most training schools I see use the Kawasaki, suggesting it's durable and easy to ride.

Hi very new to this

My 99 mondeo 1.8td stalled the other day and now won't restart. There is diesel all the way to the injector pump but not in the injectors. Some one mentioned the stop solenoid. Can anyone help me in locating this because I have a donar car and can take the part off of this to try it if i could only find it lol
thanks

The intermittent wipe has stopped working. And the screen wash jets don't work.
Other wiper functions work OK:

* Push up for manual wipe -- works OK
* Click down once for intermittent wipe -- nothing happens
* Click down twice for constant wipe -- works OK
* Twist for rear wiper -- works OK
* Pull for screen wash -- nothing.

Any ideas. I thought I had maybe blown a fuse.
But there is just a single 20A Wiper fuse in the cabin, as far as I can see. And the wiper motor works OK.

Thanks

I'm thinking of treating myself to a Jimny.
I am being made redundant shortly so I am considering a new model and using part of my package to finance the purchase.
Is paying cash a good option and if so what sort of discount should I be looking for? Read more

I like suzukis. good little motors, just be aware that some spares can be fearsomely expensive.
