3 nuns were stopped speeding at 120MPH. The maximum speed limit where they were caught seems to be 80MPH.
The driver num was fined the equivalent of £325, and "lost her driving licence for a month", and intends to appeal.

hello
please could you tell me if you solved the problem as I am experiencing the same and Honda have no idea what to do next?...
Hi.
I am new to this forum and I am searching for answers about...well....about my car...
Yesterday I took my car to a petrol station and was talking on the phone. I have been talking...unscrewing my fuel tank cap...started to refuel and....after a few seconds I realised I have ben puting PETROL IN MY CLIO DIESEL!
I was annoyed! Damn! how could I have ever been so stupid! Damn phone! I got so distracted that I have put wrong kind of fuel in my car!
I had to call for my car to be towed away and they will have to pump out remaining petrol.
So I have some questions...
Can there be some additional damage to my engine?
What would have happened, if I would turn the ignition key?
Is there any system that I could install that would prevent me from doing that?
It is quite easy for petrol users, because diesel nozzle is oversized and it doesn't fit into petrol vehicle, but you can easily put petrol into your diesel.

My Son did exactly the same thing to his Mazda 6. He had only put a few seconds worth of petrol in it - so he then filled the tank (it was almost empty) with diesel. It did cough and splutter a little and he topped it up at every opportunity. He continues to use the car today without any problems - and that happened 2 years ago.
Hope this helps

Ah well and a nice English Lit lesson to-boot !
Cars is a loose sense - actually they are roadgoing tug versions of the Lanz Bulldog tractor. Single cylinder 2-stroke diesel engine. Not unlike the British Field Marshalls.

In my area the saving of power is done by replacing illuminated bollards with flat spring loaded non-illuminated versions. :-) Read more
Waste of time, there's soooo much spare capacity in the national grid over night that it won't do anyone any favours to reduce consumption further.
It may save the council some money but ultimately as the generators won't save much/anything by trying to lower output further we may ultimately end up seeing it reflected in even higher prices for our daytime electricity to make up for the shortfall in money from street lighting, if it goes national of course.
HJ's car-by-car gives 3 stars to the Golf vi and 5 stars to the Focus. Is the Golf really that bad? Read more
A Golf is a great car to buy new. A Focus is a great car to buy secondhand.
An Astra is also best bought secondhand, although with Vauxhall's cavalier (sorry) attitude towards early component failures just out of warranty (see the current Astra and Corsa threads) it may be best bought not at all.
Hi, sisters boyfriend turned up at our house the other day in his rx7 which was exhibiting a high pitched squeal when running, after a bit of quick searching it was the starter motor that had stuck on. the car was left for awhile due to rain, after i removed the starter motor and inspected it, the gear teeth showed clear signs of having been stuck on, i gave the motor a blow out with compressed air, checked all the terminals were clean and refitted the unit. when he went to start the car the starter motor started turning over when the key was in the second position not the start position.
ive stripped down the starter motor solenoid and all looks fine there, ive also removed and looked over the ignition switch and again nothing seems out of place there. ive also found if i remove the small terminal that carries the feed from the ignition switch to the starter motor, put the ignition too position two and then short out the permanent live feed to the ignition feed lug at the starter motor the engine starts properly, but the solenoid stays stuck on.
ive looked over various wiring diagrams for the car and can't see anything which may cause the problem so wondered if anybody had any ideas? failing any suggestions im going to have to spend the rest of the week tracing the ignition wiring back from the starter motor to the ignition switch to see if i can find any sort of short.
cheers

Sounds as though you have two seperate faults here, firstly there should be no voltage on the solonoid energising connection on the first ignition switch position, so there appears to be a short in the wiring somewhere. If the starter remains engaged with the solonoid lead disconnected, there has to be a fault in the solonoid, could be there is a short form the main 12v feed to the solonoid connection, this may have resulted from the heat generated by the starter being continually engaged.

A MOTORCYCLIST who was followed by police at speeds of up to 139mph on an East Riding road has been jailed for dangerous driving.
Saxby was jailed for 12 months, disqualified from driving for four years and ordered to take an extended driving test after that.
I doesn't mention the charged rider was doing that speed, but I suppose it makes better headlines.
Saxby had been driving in excess of 100mph at some points along the road and had driven into the village, where the speed limit is 30mph, at about 60mph.

...and with that as this thread has become decidedly personal, unpleasant and bogged down, the key is turned !
Following a request to re-open the thread and an intervention from HJ requesting snipping of the more threads to remove "garbage" take that as a warning !

Which is why I started spouting on the other thread - I hadn't read this - may rectify it later.
