This site appears to be hacked. There is a link on the R/H side for downloading the new need for speed game - Dont go there - it appears to be a keystroke logging program.

Exactly, so more deliberate than a trojan accidentally uploaded by HJ
or one of the mods, unless someone attacked all Khoosys systems
(which could explain the generic title) this site must have been
manually hacked.

Indeed, but the passwords/usernames could have been recovered by a trojan installing a keylogger on one of the admin machines. I agree though that someone probably sat down, logged in and did this. At a guess they also created new admin-level accounts. If you didn't care to look the main site the links lead to (not the folder where the keylogger resides) seems to include a whole raft of pre-built malware of all kinds ready for download and deployment.

I hope we find out what happened.

We have a puma and the keyfob is very hit and miss for working. It requires repeated pressing sometimes but not every time. Battery is tested at full voltage but i have not changed recently. Does anyone know of any reasons why and what to do to sort out . cheers Read more

Not much traffic; great roads, many with long straights for easy overtaking; good driving habits (eg little or no tailgating, ditto aggression); fine scenery.

No speed cameras (as far as I could tell), though a few camera warning signs. Didn't see a cop outside Belfast (though each town had its heavily fortified cop-shop), apart from what appeared to be one traffic patrol car on an emergency.

The Carrefour I referred to has an attendant who takes cash if the store is open.

I wonder if anyone has got any advice regarding my partners Micra? She is using it to learn to drive and it needs some attention.

1) The car has started to "shudder" slightly when pulling away in 1st from cold. When warmed up it isn't as obvious. I am guessing this is the first sign of the clutch going. Anyone like to comment on whether its likely to need adjusting or a complete new clutch? If it needs a new one, is a new one likely to be "soft" or "hard" - remembering this is for a learner driver? I seem to recall putting a new clutch in my old Mk Escort and it was reallt tough to operate!

2) There is a small "bumping/clanking" sound coming from the nearside. Its like the sound of a panel being flexed (in and then, eventually, out again).. I though it would be the shocks, maybe gone dry and being sticky. It doesn't happen all the time, not over all bumps in the road and not always on corners... just an occasional "bump/clank". Is there any known problems with shocks or supension on these Micras?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Once clutch judder has started it is unlikely to go away and normally indicates that the clutch has been overheated or contaminated with oil. My advice would be to fit a genuine clucth although nissan dont make there own but they go through rigourous quality checks to be accepted by the manufacture. An alternative is to by an ADL clutch which is sutible for thew job. Remanufactured & recon clutches tend to feel sharp on take up & you get less of a feel to the overcentre throw.
I would recomend a good inspection on a ramp to check the underside with a view to close inspection of A/roll bar & lower ball joints

I have a Rover 400 two litre petrol "V" reg. The front offside brakes have a knocking sound felt through the brake pedal when slowing from around 20 miles an hour for instance coming up to a junction. If I brake hard there is no knocking. My local garage fitted new discs and pads around 2,000 miles ago and has said the brakes are fine to use but is at a loss to see what the problem might be.

Any ideas welcome.... Read more

I believe an oil filter relocation kit is available for the MX5. Try www.mx5parts.co.uk.

I'm getting increasingly frustrated by seeing (modern) properties for sale which we rule out purely because the garage is too small. Don't builders realise that some people want a garage to keep their car in and not just to use as a general junk store? Most garages are barely big enough to get a small family-size car in and even then it's a struggle to get out of the car. And it's a real pain trying to manoeuvre the door mirrors through a 7 ft wide door which is what most garages have. Don't builders research what people need?

I'm afraid that you are probably in the minority in wanting to garage your car. On a practical basis most people's cars are used fairly frequently and its a pain driving in and out of a garage. Besides which unless you are concerned about security garaging a car has few benefits. Most people don't actully want a garage to put a car in. What they wants is some sort of storage/utility area plus some off road parking for a couple of cars. Very few people in my experience actually put their car in a garage, even those who claim to so for Insurance purposes: I know I don't .

What puzzles me is why don't builders stop claiming these outbuidlings are garages and design them for the purposes for which they will be used. Get rid of the up and over doors for one thing and ensure that there is some natural lighting with adequate electrics. A sink for washing out those paintbrushes etc. would be useful rather than having to use the kitchen.

Following on from the earlier thread seeking information on Growler, last week I sent an E Mail
to an address I have made contact with him before.

In responce I have just received the following reply:

>>>>>>>>>>Hi,

I am Graham's sister, sadly he died last September after an operation for bowel cancer.
I know he is sorely missed by a lot of people.

What a loss......

I have not disclosed Hillary's E Mail address as I don't want her inundated with hugh numbers of E Mails and subject to the permission of HJ ask that you use this post for any message of condolence. I will E Mail a reference to this post so that she can view.

I am late on the sad scene and I will not rehash the things that have already been so well said above.

I particularly sympathise with Growler's family, having just lost my beloved wife to cancer. My wife would have been in much more pain but for devoted care by the doctors and particularly nurses, and I hope it was so for Growler.

Ave atque vale, Growler.
