Give me strength....yeah I know it must be about the worst job in the world coning off a lane on a motorway. But you can just see the chip in these things going haywire after a couple of months on the upper stretches of the M62 in winter

On reading this in "auto express" my immediate thoughts were that this was an april 1st story that was late in getting into print.
Come on guys, it surely can not be genuine.

On my way home from work yesterday, I happened upon one a new 307CC. From the rear three-quarter view, this has got to be one of the ugliest cars ever. The passenger compartment looks like it would slide down the bonnet and onto the floor if it had to stop suddenly....

... Well I thought that that the one that I saw looked absolutely superb. However it was parked next to a Rover Streetwise. :-) ...

You're kidding! I'd take neither out of choice - not my scene at all - but when it comes to body design, at least the 25/ZS/Streetwise is a well proportioned attractive little hatch.

I had a thought this evening, it may sound a stupid question but do diesels have catalytic converters? I seem to remember modern models with advanced engine management eg. 'common rail' may have them, but what about older diesels, for example Ford Mondeo TD or Vectra? I was uncertain with the different emissions a diesel engine produces, and would the soot block such a device?
On a related point, is it true that exhaust systems on diesel models outlast their petrol equivalents due to reduced condensation or acidic deposits? If that is true then another reason in favour of changing to diesel.

Diesel last longer han petrosl due to loads of reason but one easy one is diesel doesn't corrode and run at lower speeds so less wear.

Been offered a 2.0 CL Sharon N reg jan 96 63K with service history for 3.5K from a dealer.I was the highest bidder on E Bay yet the car failed to make its reserve. I,ve been sent a copy of the HPI report and it flags up clear on all counts.Minor burn on 1 rear seat and a copy of scratches on the NSR wing condition allegedlY very good. 2 new tyres NSR has about 10 K left in it.However CL fails to work for some reason

Is this a good deal what should i look for? anyone had one of these and suffered a lot of problems. The cars in Brighton i,m in Taunton is this worth the trip? I can do basic servicing, inc brakes, CV Gaiters, shock changes etc what are the costs of running these things? Read more

CL problems usually due to water ingress under front passenger seat from blocked drains - visit www.fordgalaxy.org.uk and join us! There is a wealth of information and some very helpful technical guys who can sort almost anything. At that price, it's almost too good to miss.

tangential to the diesel - auto thread.

Dan,

Seem to remember you were going to start working for Ford.

Did they ever sort the mismatch between the TDCi engine and the Durashift gearbox? What is it like to drive in practice? (Thought someone else asked this question recently but can't find it.)

Fuel cons'n figs still don't look that good in comparison. Is it worth arranging a test drive or merely a waste of salesman's and my time? The driving experience is more important than the figures.

Plus of course the auto is only available with Euro III engine which is another big minus.

Would appreciate objective comments.

Hi all
Just got back from work, wife complaining of swimming pool in front passenger side of footwell.
and yes massive wet 1 inch of water in carpet, absolutly sodden.
looked under dashboard, water around wires on left hand side under dashboard.
Also leaking from the roof onto gearlever surround, middle front right hand side just to right of where you can put glasses case.
it is dripping 1 drip every 20 seconds.
where shall i take it>?
it has 1 month warranty left from honda garge where i bought it from or 1.5 years left on toyota warranty.
honda or toyota ?
thanks yawl. Read more

NOT ROOF BARS !
it has had a replacement windscreen, its got rac or something imprinted on windscreen?
so they reckon windscreen seal.
not covered under toyota warranty, thanks but no thanks.
we will have to charge you.

i will take back to garage i bought from.
they said they will fix it for free. they can do they service while its in an all !

sorry dunno bout laguna. i wonder if the seals can disintergrate? also with body flexing, the seals can break?

it would only take a small hole, and a caphillery action to swamp a cars footwell.
im moving to southern spain. it would only take a few hours to dry up ! typical english weather

Anyone any experience, viewpoint on the above? Friend is looking at maybe buying one, trading in his 307 diesel (90) for it.
Is the 1.6 a big enough engine for the Picasso?
HJ hasn't roadtested it as far as I can see and the forum that has a link pasted on the car by car breakdown doesn't seem to have many people currently active on it!

Any thoughts? Read more

Thanks for that, will qickly read up on this on the picasso forum website!
Now been to the dealer. Being offered £5500 to change from

307 HDI(90) Rapier 2002 3 dr 52reg 23000 miles (Parkers trade in price about £8300)

to Picasso 1.6HDI Exclusive with metallic paint (Hurricane Grey)
List price £16645 plus cost of paint, minus £2300 Citroen discount equals £14345 (Car in stock and can be registered tomorrow)

So in theory should be about £6000 plus cost of paint to change, being offered £5500. However, cashback deal ends tomorrow so needs to decide today. Does anone know what next month's Citroen deal will be??
