I read recently that Citroen have just started fitting rear wash wipe to the C5 hatch.
They left it off before, apparently, (although I'd never noticed) to make it look more like a saloon. Doh...
Perhaps Sir Clive had a hand in this design too! Read more
How overblown and pretentious was Peter Dron's column in the motoring section today? I think he went off the track at pseuds corner where a lifetime award awaits him. He ends by saying that a future free from boredom is the only thing he can guarantee. It will be for me as I won't be reading the back page anymore.

Probablement, moi.
Within the article on Jaguar's X-type Estate and comparison with BMW rivals I noticed the following:

Our White 1996 316 isn't aging too badly, it's got a bit of rust starting to show around the wheelarches, but it's going into a bodyshop soon to get that sorted out. Apart from that it looks immaculate, almost as good as the day we bought it.
It still doesn't look too old fashioned either, despite having been replaced, I reckon that the next 3 series will make it look a bit more out of date, but then a MK1 Mondeo looks just as dated when compared to the MK3...

... "Latest "executive" trim level is getting on for 50 grand!!! "
Is that with or without "full" leather seating? ...
Well, you do get 'special leather' on the front seats only.
The rear seats have the 'standard leather'!
Hi Folks, i was wondering can help me.
I have a 1998 406, and the digital mileage clock has stopped lighting recently.
On a fine day, i can see thats its still clocking up miles buts its not lighting anymore in the display.
Ive had a look at the fuses and everything elso seems to be working ok.
Is this a expensive job getting it fixed or is it simply a case of replacing a bulb.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Where did you get the replacement bulb from, Alan?

Perhaps someone can explain this?
I have a 98 Audi A6 2.5 TDi and have just replaced the original Audi Concert System head unit with a Sony CD player head-unit.
The new Sony unit creates a background buzz in the back-left speakers, which appears to be vehicle speed related (i.e. you can hear it increase in frequency with speed and it is silent when the car is stationary!). The engine speed does not affect it.
The shop that fitted the unit have tried at least 4 different head units in place of the Sony one and they all see to buzz in the one speaker. They have also tried fitting a suppressor on the mains line, which made no difference.
The original Audi unit didn't do this, so I am puzzled as to why non-Audi kit does it.
Any thoughts as to what I am missing!?

Dan,
I also have an A3 (non Bose). Retaining the original headunit, I have installed an Ipod using the dension icelink cable. As soon as the ipod is selected I get interference (even without the ipod attached). The noise does get worse as the ignition is swtiched on and reving of the engine occurs.
I bought a Ground Loop suppressor today from the local Halfords, but it is only for units upto 5amps...the Audi concert runs a 7.5, so I refunded it and I'm looking at getting a better unit.
Have you had any success in solving your interference?
Cheers :)
I am looking at VR6 Ventos and would appreciate comments on longevity.

...and they should be much cheaper than an equivalent Golf VR6 due to lack of image, even if they may be a better car if you want a large boot and don\'t mind sacrificing the practicality of a hatch.

Any product recommendations to polish out these scratches. They are not deep but a couple of inches long. I think they were caused by a bag carried by one of those leaflet distribution people.

Yes it is motoring, behind Ms Philippines on the right is a beautifully restored WW2 Jeep with working machine gun. She's the one on the right.
Here, if you didn't do the special delivery, a dozen red ones at least along with the toblerone, teddy bear and bottle of California Red then you have serious things to answer for.
Bit like renewing your tax, MOT, and insurance, keep it up to date no problem, let it lapse, well.....and I can assure you the skills of the Filipina in monitoring any shortcomings here would beat the living daylights out of any system yet to be devised by mere man.
...Growler out.

Retro fit wouldn't be possible due to several reasons.
1, hole in glass in rear window
2, location and wiring for motor
3, route for water pipe
4, control switches not fitted
5, finding a dealer willing to help you
6, who needs the rear wiper anyway; get some RainX!
I'm sure Graeme would agree, you don't miss the rear wiper after a bit.
