March 2001

Hyundai launches its Santa Fe SUV; a five door 4x4 with a choice of 143PS 2.4 litre petrol or 177PS 2.7 litre petrol V6 engines and a 115PS 2.0 litre diesel. The 2.4 has a manual five-speed gearbox, while the 2.7 has an H-tronic automatic offering manual over-ride. Equipment includes driver and passenger airbags, ABS with EBD, air conditioning, and a rear hatchback window which can be opened separately to accommodate long loads such as surfboards. On the road prices, including a three year warranty, were £15,999 for the 2.4, £16,999 for the 2.0 diesel and £17,999 for the 2.7 automatic.

All Santa Fe models are covered by Hyundai’s five year, unlimited mileage warranty.

October 2002

Acquires common rail direct injection, same 115PS but 202g/km CO2 emissions for the manual and 246g/km for the 4-speed automatic.
