Mazda Reviews

New Cars
Good: Impressive small hatch that offers a fine blend of comfort and handling. Good economy. Well equipped as standard. The best looking and altogether nicest small car in the class.
Bad: No spare wheel - just a tyre repair kit.
Good: Good looking and well engineered. Efficient engines. Excellent steering and handling, better still from 2017 revamp. Compliant suspension.
Bad: No DAB radio at launch (DAB arrived for 2017 MY).
Good: Powered by Mazda's Skyactiv-X Spark Controlled Compression Ignition petrol engine with a broad spread of torque and 60mpg capability.
Bad: Production car cannot have showcar features of pop-out door handles and solid ebony console.
Good: Nimble and agile handling. Spacious cabin is very well made. Huge improvements to refinement and steering from October 2016
Bad: On 19-inch wheels suspension of 2012-2016 cars can feel firm at low speeds. Rear headroom in the saloon is limited for adult passengers.
Good: Updated and improved Mazda 6 Skyactiv with EU6d TEMP 2.5 Skyactiv G petrol engine featuring cylinder deactivation.
Good: Great to drive. Well-finished cabin. Comfortable and practical. Huge improvements to refinement and steering from October 2016
Bad: Load area not as big as a Passat Estate. Suspension of 2013-2016 cars firm when on 19-inch wheels.
Good: AWD is sporty to drive. Attractive styling. High tech features. Capable engines. 2WD or AWD. Manual or 6-speed torque converter auto with both petrol and diesel engines.
Bad: Expensive next to rivals like the Renault Captur or SsangYong Tivoli. Well priced compared to the Audi A2, SEAT Ateca, Honda HR-V and Suzuki Vitara S.
Good: Enjoyable to drive, head-turning looks.
Bad: Touchscreen looks a bit cheap compared to rivals, diesel can be noisy if revved.
Good: Excellent handling makes it fun to drive. 1.5-litre model works very well on uneven UK roads. 2.0 as quick as many drivers would ever want. Well-equipped for the money.
Bad: No rear seats. High emissions.
Good: Coupe style and folding hard top. Just as good to drive as the soft-top. Available with an auto.
Bad: Very limited headroom for taller occupants with the roof up. Terrible over the shoulder rear 3/4 vision.
