My Ford Focus' engine management light has come on and it's shuddering - what's gone wrong?
My Ford Focus 1600 Zetec's engine management light has started to come on, then the speedo goes to zero. Even the little LCD window on the speedo reads nothing. The miles dont register and the engine starts to shudder. It rights itself after a few miles.

Probably the oil seal to the final drive speed sensor has failed. Replacing it is a £100 job.
