Why are my Vauxhall Zafira's sidelights on when the car is switched off?

The sidelights on my Vauxhall Zafira come on when the engine is off and the key is out of the car, but when the engine is running the lights are fine and work ok.

Short circuit. Call in a car electrical specialist.
