Why is my Nissan Qashqai using so much oil?

My Nissa Qashqai Tekna 1.2 DIG is 2 years and 9 months old with 23,000 miles on the clock. It uses a lot of oil and does bad mpg.

This appears to be quite a common problem and Nissan is routinely replacing engines. I'll add yours to the entry in www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar. Then you can use the Good/Bad section to refute any nonsense the Nissan dealer might feed you.
