Audi TT won't unlock with key fob

I've just bought a 2002 Audi TT convertible. I went to get in it today and discovered that it wouldn't unlock with the key fob. The roof and windows have also stopped working. Are all of these things linked? If so, how can I fix them?

Yes, the locking, windows and roof are all controlled by the same ECU inside the driver's door. It may have suffered water ingress. But, of course, your problem may simply be that the fob batter has failed, but that would not prevent the windows or the roof opening from the switches inside the car.
