Why won't my warranty cover my Audi A4's shock absorbers?

My Audi A4 is in for MoT as I write. At the beginning of the year I was given an insurance against MoT failure to the tune of £750. It says quite clearly on that insurance that the parts covered include shock absorbers. It says nothing about wear and tear, just ‘shock absorbers’. They are now telling me that wear and tear is not covered but it says diddly squat about that on the document. What can go wrong with shock absorbers other than MoT failure? A response asap would be very much appreciated.

If you paid for this warranty, tell them they are in breach of contract. The warranty clearly states that shock absorbers are covered. They cannot wriggle out of this by invoking a wear and tear clause. Either shock absorbers are covered, as stated, or they aren't. Tell them you will take the matter to the small claims track of the County Court: Law here: www.honestjohn.co.uk/faq/consumer-rights/

And if this is an insured warranty they have to be FSA registered so you can also take the matter to the FSA.
