Will you run a made-up question in your column to help us pressure the government over compulsory eye examinations?

I'm getting in touch from Specsavers with a view to sharing with you statistics found as part of their Drive Safe campaign, in conjunction with road safety charity Brake. As part of the Drive Safe campaign, Brake and Specsavers are working to put pressure on the government to support their call for compulsory eye examinations for drivers, at least every two years, and for drivers to carry a spare pair of glasses in their vehicle. We have very interesting statistics, namely that one in five road users have never had an eye examination. Would you consider a question in your 'Honest John' column, along the lines of 'As a driver, how often should I get my eyes tested?'. Following the sad news of a teenage girl killed by an 87 year-old motorist who had previously failed an on-the-spot eye test given by a PC, we thought it was a very timely time for these stats to be released. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any further questions. I can supply more statistics if you would like.

That is a totally outrageous suggestion. You are asking me to make up a 'reader' question, which in 17 years and 700,000 questions I have never done. Then lobby government for a draconian new law and include it in my column for your client's financial gain. Absolutely not. Please never darken my mailbox ever again.
