Is my warranty supposed to cover this?

I bought my Citroen C4 Grand Picasso 08 reg in Nov 2010. I bought Trade Sales 2+2 warranty which expires 24.3.13
My car has been into a Citroen main dealer which has diagnosed a total failure of the gear box. I paid for the diagnosis as the warranty does not cover that. Trade sales has not agreed to pay for the gear box.

I will also go to Abraxas, the underwriters, but would greatly appreciate your help or opinion.

Depends on the wording of the warranty. I would expect it to cover transmission failure, but if this is an automated manual it might not cover the clutch. If you still think it is covered by the warranty and they refuse to pay up, take the matter to www.moneyclaim.gov.uk
