A driver hit my car and drove off but I got the number plate - can I request information from the DVLA?

I was hit in a supermarket car park by a driver who did not stop. Can I request the address of the owner from DVLA as I have a photo of the car showing the number plate?

Yes, because you can show 'just cause'. Here is the relevant site: www.gov.uk/request-information-from-dvla /
