Absolutely fantastic

After 5 weeks and 2,500 miles including a 550 mile each way non-stop trip to Aberdeenshire this car is as brilliantly impressive as it was on day 1. It's hard to fault anything other than the "Jaguar" logo at the bottom of the inside of the windscreen (looks cheap and reflects on the screen) and the fact that the rear seats do not fold (aluminium body?). These minor criticisms only serve to emphasise just how good this car is.
I've previously owned 2 XFs (which I loved) and I am still impressed by how much belter the XJ is.
On the trip back from Aberdeenshire I ran with cruise control at what might be called a decent pace (other than road works / average speed cameras) and the XJ delivered 43.9 mpg. That's 5-6 mpg better than I was getting from my last XF and significantly better than I expected. The XJ is swift, silent, comfortable, has a brilliant stereo and is absolutely everything I wanted in a car.
I read some negative feedback regarding the dashboard/dials but I think they are superb. After owning BMWs and Audis the XJ instruments and controls seem to me to be much more intuitive than the systems the German marques prefer.
I honestly can't think of a reason not to buy this car.
