Skoda Citigio prices start at £7,630

Skoda’s version of the Volkswagen Up! city car - the Citigo - goes on sale in June, priced from £7,630 for the entry level S model, rising to £10,415 for the top-of-the-range Elegance automated manual. Most models fall into insurance group 1E, with VED bands of A or B, so running costs will be very low. All models come with a 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine, which is tuned to deliver either 60PS or 75PS. Emissions start from as low as 96g/km and the most frugal models can manage 68.9mpg on the official combined cycle test. 

Entry level S models come with a full complement of air bags, power steering and daytime runnings lights, and a CD-player with Aux-in. The dash is prepared to accept the optional portable infotainment device (PID) which includes sat nav, audio and various other features including a selection off apps.

The S model is offered in both three- and five-door forms and is priced from £7,630. Moving up to the SE model gets you more standard equipment, including electric front windows, ESP traction control, remote central locking and air conditioning. Prices start at £8,530.

The top spec Elegance model gets electric door mirrors, alloy wheels, heated front seats, leather steering wheel, and front fog lights, as well as the PID device. Prices for the elegance trim start at £9,470.
