98 Vauxhall astra - Astra brake lights inop but boot brake light OK?

98 Vauxhall astra - Astra brake lights inop but boot brake light OK? - Saints best kept secret

My wife has a T reg Astra estate 1.6 16v petrol.

The brake lights are not working on the car but the brake light in the boot lid is working fine??

I have checked the bulbs but they are fine and having used a multi meter can not find a feed to the lights.

Any ideas? Could it be a fuse or something simple like that?

If not, where is the next place to be looking?

Have you checked the brake pedal switch?

Haven't checked the switch because the brake light in the boot lid is working so I assumed the switch would be ok to work this??

Could be wrong, but I think the brake switch is double poled, thus one for the hi-vis LED brake light, and the other connection for the bulbs in the clusters.

Worth checking as you've tried the other obvious stuff.
