Vauxhall Corsa - Corsa wont start - rstheshotts

Hi, Out of the blue my daughters corsa will not start. It was ok 24 hours ago.

It's a 2005 1.2 twinport . The gauge says there's petrol in the tank although I thought I'd smell some if engine turning and not starting. I haven't. I've checked all fuses and all ok. I'm waiting for a set of jump leads as the battery is now getting low.

Anyone any idea where to go next before I have to take it to a garage/

Cheers, Ronnie

The list is endless as to why a car will not start, check the obvious fuel, battery, fuses and then move on to cam shaft sensor or broken camshaft, cambelt etc.

Could be the engine management computer. I had a similar issue with an Astra.

Also one time one of the fuses (temperature guage) which meant that the car thought it was running hot and the fan would be constantly on, which drained the battery.

Hi, checked fuses and ok.

How did you resolve engine management issue?

Get a £25 op-com off a well known auction site and declare the dealerships redundant. They take two weeks to arrive but worth the wait, you can do everything bar modifying the mileage and recoding the radio. Worth it just to program a new key.
