Lexus IS250 - Rear view mirror replacement with camera version - KenMavor

Gents and ladies.

Anyone own and use one of these replacement rear view mirrors that inclide a camera and can be attached to a camera at the read?

Just interested to see if there is anyone with some real life experience of the them rather than hearsay/rumour/innuendo etc.

The camera screens tend to be quite small and not easy to read. A better option,if your car is fitted with sat nav screen ,would be to integrate a rear camera into the AV system of the media system.

Very popular with motorhome owners and now becoming standard kit on many new ones. Like all tech there will be good and bad, but ones I've seen have been good.

The main downside with any rear facing camera is rain and dirt. If its not positioned correctly after a few miles in dirty weather you won't be able to see anything.

Is there any earthly reason why these gizmos can't be fitted to the rearmost part (and rear side sections) of HGVs? I would propose mandatory fitting, starting with HGVs with LHD cabs as it would save hundreds of near misses and actual crashes.
