Which version of Toyota RAV-4 to buy?

I am considering buying a used Toyota RAV-4 no more than four years old, which must be automatic. I cannot work out which engine size and fuel would be the most economical.

2.0i Valvemantic Multidrive S. As long as you do';t intend to tow, this is the best combination. It is actually slightly more economical and slightly lower CO2 than the diesel automatic and, of course, no DPF to worry about.
