Can worn tyres put enough pressure on the transfer box to crack the casing?
"The transfer box on my 2013 Vauxhall Antara requires replaced as the bearing exploded and cracked open the casing. The garage have informed me that although all my tyres are well above the legal limit, and it had passed its MOT only 3 weeks ago, that one of the tyres has more wear on it and this can put pressure on the transfer box. I also have lifetime warranty or 100,000 miles but they are saying I cannot claim against this and have to pay £4100 for a new one. Is this all true?"
That is correct information. The disparity in tyre size has wrecked your transmission.
Vauxhall Antara Fuel Gauge/Sender Problems - what's the cause?
"I had a Vauxhall Antara and have had an intermittent problem with my fuel gauge dropping off occasionally to read empty even if the tank is full. Unfortunately, now on start up the gauge reads just over half, when full, when I initially put in my key and then drops off to empty when I start the engine. I understand there are two fuel sender units in my car. Could one of these be the problem? If so how do I determine which?"
The gauge works by a float sensor in the tank. The float may have sprung a leak or there may be an electrical fault between it and the dash head gauge.
My car's service history was missing - now it's fictional
"I bought my 2009 Vauxhall Antara from Motor Parks (Preston) in Sept 2012. At the time, I was told by Salesman that it was ex-Mobility, and had a full service history. However, the company has lost the service book, they have got me a new one - but they have not had it brought up to date, as yet and I keep getting passed from pillar to post every time I enquire.
I have been to another Vauxhall dealer which went the extra mile, and did a service check on it for me... And apparently the car has never been registered with Mobility, and never had a service with any Vauxhall dealership.
I now feel that I was misled into buying this car."
Reject the car for a full refund because it is not as described.

Why does my alarm keep going off?
"My alarm has started going off, some times for hours. Any idea what could be causing it?"
Possibly a spider crawling across the sensor. Try switching the ventilation to recirculate, closing all the vents, switching the heater to max heat and directing directable vents to the floor. If it is not a spider, that will minimise air disturbance inside the car that sets off the alarm.
