Ford/Mercury/Lincoln - Recommendations? 7 Dec 2012 (Forum)
Enough of imports, I've had two bad ones in a row. Now I'm looking for something along the lines of a Ford Crown Vic, Lincoln Town Car, Mercury Grand Marquis...but: can all y'all think of something similar that I might be overlooking? I'm leaning towards a Town Car but I'm willing to hear other suggestions in that barge/land yacht area...I keep thinking I'm forgettting something. -
ford focus 2005 - reversing light 27 Sep 2012 (Forum)
my reversing / fog light dose not work i have changed the fuse and bulb ,followed the wires underneath can not see any breaks or shorts on it. the haynes manual with its circuit diagram espescially for the layout for the fuses is different to the ford focus owners guide wondering could it be an earth problem and where in the boot is the earthpoint since the manual dose not say ? what i find is strange both rear fog lights going into whaty looks like a conector block and is fed from wires from the boot yet only the offside rear works and the nearside / revers dose not and if they all use the same earthing point as the rear lights how come they still work ? -

What next for Ford after the 1.0 Ecoboost.... 1 Feb 2012 (Forum)
.................engine going in Focus size car. Well, apparently according to Ford engineers the next stage is downsizing of the cars themselves, and that means weight reduction and less drag. I say about time! Mondeo/Sierra/Cortina man no longer buys a Mondeo, because its the size of a Granada. -

Ford Kuga - Downsize Alloys & Winter tyres. 14 Nov 2011 (Forum)
It has been suggested to me that by dropping the rim & tyre size, i will have to have the car management system recallobrated to ensure the ABS, speedo, ect function correctly. Is this correct or is the Ford dealership trying to have me over for more cash? Thanks. -
Ford - F250 6.9d V8 Veg oil conversion ? 1 Oct 2011 (Forum)
I run a 1986 Ford USA F250 truck with a 6.9 Diesel V8. The truck already has 2 separate diesel tanks and is not of course common rail. It is therefore suitable for a Veg Oil ' conversion ' , however had a company doing these telling me that I cannot convert whilst on the factory issue ' Stanadyne ' Injection Pump , I would need another make like a Bosch or others . -
Ford Mondeo - Whch sensor is required to start tdci 14 Sep 2011 (Forum)
Ive got a ford mondeo 53 reg 130bhp tdci. It wont start of its own accord, it needs a very quick sniff of ether to get going. Once running its fine, injectors and pump have been stripped and tested twice to find all is well. -
Ford Focus (1998 - 2004) - 05 1.8 Car stalling at junctions and lumpy idle 5 Sep 2011 (Forum)
Am i correct in thinking it could be the idle control valve at fault? I have had the fault codes read at a Ford main dealer and none are showing. As i understand it, one of the few sensors that can fail or stick and not generate a fault code is the idle control valve. is this correct? All thoughs are greatly appreciated. -
ford mondeo - diesel mondeo sos 30 Aug 2011 (Forum)
Hello. I was driving my 2001 ford mondeo tdci yesterday at 70 mph when all of a sudden the engine stopped and I managed to pull over to the hard shoulder. I was then able to restart but then the engine wouldn’t go above 2,000 rpm I called the AA who plugged in a diagnostic device that came up with codes p0216 p0335 p1246 p1608 p1665 b2139. -
Ford Focus - Car Servicing 21 Jun 2011 (Forum)
I have a 2008 model petrol Ford Focus. It's due for its 3 year servicing. It has run 23000 miles. An independent mechanic has been highly recommended to me. However this mechanic is a mobile mechanic. He doesn't have a service station. -
Ford Focus - 2010 Focus New or Used 29 May 2011 (Forum)
After much deliberation about what car to get i reckon i want a ford focus but can't decide whether to buy new or old. I have been to a couiple of garages and seen new 2010 1.6 zetecs for around £13k with 3 yr warranty, first year tax and roadside assistance included along with 0% finance with a 40% deposit. -
2008 Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec - Throttle response 24 May 2011 (Forum)
After getting the car home I noticed the car had a very erratic idle and slow throttle response. I took the car back to the Ford dealer who promptly "recalibrated" the 1.8 Zetec engine ("they are known to fall out of calibration," I was told). The erratic idling has gone but the throttle still seems to jump slightly when you lift off, and it just doesn't seem as responsive as I'd expect. -
Ford Mondeo, 2.0 TDCi Mk3, 06 Reg. - Glove Compartment help 1 Apr 2011 (Forum)
However, I cannot locate a lever and before I start ripping things apart does anyone know if Ford carried out a modification in the later cars to remove the lever or does a simpler method exist. The Haynes manual shows a hand moving a lever but not in my car, a recess exists for said lever. -

Ford Fiesta - Fix piston rings or new engine 7 Feb 2011 (Forum)
I have had a diagnosis of a broken piston ring on one cylinder of my 2002 Ford Fiesta mk6 with a mileage of 52000. I have been advised by the garage that they recommend replacing the piston rings at a cost of 1000 GBP (600 labour, 400 parts). This is assuming the cylinder hole has not been damaged. -
Ford Focus - Smaller wheels for winter tyres 23 Dec 2010 (Forum)
I own a '57 plate Ford Focus 1.6TDCi Ghia (pre-facelift), bought second-hand and unfortunately fitted with unneccesary 17" alloys. I am considering buying some steel wheels for use with winter tyres but am unsure whether the 15" wheels will fit (my preference).
