• Nissan Micra - Nissan v Ford 6 Mar 2011 (Forum)
    I would like another nissan but i am not that keen on the micra shape now and I don't want a pixo.  The car shape i really like is the ford ka but having previously owned two fiestas, I think nissan is far superior, especially the body work, mine is just showing signs of corrosion now where the fiestas were corroded after five years. i would appreciate any comments and opinions.

  Hi, I have just bought a new-ish black Ford Ka. The dealer offered me Diamond brite protection (interior & exterior protection which keeps your car 'in showroom condition for life') and said I would think about it. After looking at reviews on here and elsewhere it doesn't seem too great but I would like to buy either diamond brite or something similar which I can apply now that will help keep my car in a good condition.

  My wifes, ford focus has started to have a life of its own. It seems to have an intermitent electrical fault and the following areas are effected on and off Intermitent wipers front stop working, back wiper stops working, or one will will work while the other one wont.

  Hello I have a problem I'm hoping you  can help with.I have a ford courier 1.8 TDDi 2000 it starts ok and runs ok at low revs but say you go to over take someone and put your foot down it starts stuttering the best way to describe it is if you were quickly turning the ignition off and on really fast.if you just accelerat steady its fine.

  I checked the obvious stuff, the plugs are genuine ford from the dealer and are 4 months old, I swapped coil pack and leads with a mates car to check and no difference.   There are no fault codes. Any ideas?

  The heater in my ford Fiesta 1.8td does not blow hot air. Both the pipes to heater control value are hot, the pipes from the value one cold one slightly warm. I have replaced the heater control value with a new one and can feel it pulsing when its turn to hot, but one side is still cold.

  Hey can anyone help i brought a ford focus 1.8 zetec today sounded and looked great i have driven it for appox 30 miles and the is now a tapping sound coming from the timing belt area. according to the garage i brought it off it had the cam belt changed approx 2000 -5000 miles ago ( i need to dig out the paperwork to confirm)i did see someone with the same problem on here but had no answers

  I have just been researching the Ford website and find that, for an upfront fee of £430, they will give my new KA 3 annual services and a full breakdown and recovery service all over Europe included, also for 3 years. As I am paying almost this much at the moment, just for a similar breakdown service, this seems like a very good deal.

  I have a 2002 manual ford focus 1.6L. Recently noticed a hissing noise coming under the front drivers side wheel arch after driving the car, which stops about 15 seconds after parking the car. Sounds like its coming from the wheel/brake on that side.

  I have a lovely red ford mondeo, which i dearly love, but as of recent and on a recent holiday the engine kangaroos whilst going along. It mainly happens when driving at low revs. If i put my foot down it wont do it, but it does it at all speeds from stationary up to 70mph.

  I've seen a 05 Fiesta LX with only 3809 miles on the clock, advertised in a local Ford dealer. On making enquiries they say it's got the Durashift, anyone got one, are they any good? I wasn't looking for an auto. Also is such a low mileage on a 4 yr old car a good or bad thing.

  Ford Ka 53 reg 1.3 duratec engine. Its running rough at idle, and juddery at take off, but ok once driving . Today I tried to remove the idle control valve for cleaning and refitting. I took off the air filter assembly and the throttle assembly... still could not get at it.. do I need to remove the inlet manifold to get at it.. this looks like its a big job for me.. surely it must be easier than that.. cheers...

  hi all, ive just had to replace a wheel bearing, rear driver, on my 2003 ford focus zetec. fair enough about 60 quid i could ill afford! was it related to the fact i had a leak coming into the boot, and one under the front driver seat, a little while ago? i read that water can destroy them?

  my ford mondeo as suddenly started to give out blue some first thing or on first start of the day and sound like a tractor. it has ony covered 83000 but only has part service history but i have had it serviced twice since i have had it (6monthly) it has already had a new turbo 2 months ago so can not see that as a issue.

  Dear Forum, Just tried to start my Ford Focus (petrol engine) and I'm having problems. Headlights, Interior Lights and CD work fine but there's a continual 'clicking sound' when I turn the ignition with no eveidence that the engine wants to fire...the dashboard lights come on and off in sync with this sound.

  I'm another with a Ford Ka and dodgy heater! I've read a few posts and the heater valve under the bonnet seems to be a common issue. However, I think my girlfriend's Ka has a slightly different problem in that it doesn't blow at all (neither hot or cold).

  Spares department fitted the replacement in seconds. ( Haynes has a complex proceedure that I did not understand - starting with "disconnect the battery") I was charged £3 plus vat - at a good London independant Ford outfit. So if you need the job done it can be done quickly, easily and cheaply. Good luck

  I've recently bought a 2006 Ford Focus 1.8 Ghia with on board touch screen sat nav. Great car and good sat nav apart from one small annoying problem. I can't seem to find a way to stop a CD playing without turning the unit off. This is no good if I'm using the satnav as it would turn this off as well.

  When I had the bonnet up on my Ford Focus 1.8 petrol, I noticed that on the Side of the timing belt cover a couple of small areas that looked darker than the rest of the surface of the cover (which is dark grey). Now I am concerned that this could be engine oil and if so where does this sort of leak start and would it show up as a drop in level on the dipstick or could it possibly just be from rain water that has fell on it whilst the bonnet has been opened on a wet day ?
