• VAG - VAG EA211 and Ford 1.0 Ecoboost engines 11 Mar 2023 (Forum)
  I must say I have failed to find anything adverse other than one or two stories of high oil consumption on the TSi and a few premature clutch wear issues on the Ford unit. Maybe VAG have resolved all the issues the older chain drive unit had? Ford must have sold thousands of the 1.0 too and there seems to be few problems. What does our panel think?

Ford Kuga 2016 1.5L  EcoBoost --  £13,000 Millage: 19,784 miles Gearbox: Ford  6-speed automatic transmission (I think it's called Select Shift) Suzuki Pros: overall reliability, Aisin known for making reliable gearboxes, good mpg Ford Pros: Overall larger and more equipped than Suzuki   [slight amendment to subject header to merge the threads - mod]

  Hi all, I’ve placed an order for a new Ford Focus Estate, I went for the 1.0 MHEV 125ps engine. I’m going to be using this mostly for driving round town, school runs etc that’s why I went for that engine. But occasionally we’ll be doing long trips for family holidays.

  Hi I hope you can help me decide  I am about to buy a Citroen Multispace crew van or Ford Courier Kombi van for my work , both are same price both good order . I would like to value peoples opinions who own them . Both look very good , emissions on the Ford are lowest but the Berlingo has done less miles and is in excellent condition even though a year older than the Ford.

  Hi, I have a 2016 Ford KA, about 6 weeks ago the check engine light came on with fault codes: P0105 P0106 P0101 We removed the MAP sensor and discovered it was coated in oil so cleaned it, reset the fault codes and it was fine.

  For a start, there is actual interior space unlike the previous shape Focus that was so cramped you couldn't swing a cat in the back or the front, infact you couldn't even open the glove box if you had a front seat passenger.   Ford have finally found some of the practicality and enjoyable driving experience that made the original Focus such a good car. It dimensions remind me alot of the Fiat Tipo but with a better dash, faster engine and more toys but equally as much good interior space.

  Can somebody please advise on what the problem might be or what I need to check to see what's going on, I've just bought a 02 plate ford KA for a cheap run about and realised the CD works fine but when switched back to AM/FM it doesn't pick up anything and completely silent no hissing or crackling when I stop it seeking like it's completely dead, not touched it yet or pulled anything out so would like to know if anyone knows why its not tuning in to any station or band?

  Hi, I was just wondering if anyone can help, My Ford Focus Ecoboost 1.3 63 Plate is in the garage and I have been advised that it would probably be easier to get a new or good quality second hand engine, The annoying thing is that this has happened 12 days out of warranty and only a couple of months before it is due to go back to Motorpoint, so at the moment we are paying £250 a month for it to be stuck in the garage as we figure out the best way to go about things as obviously this kind of fault does not come cheap, also any help with regards to where to look for a second hand engine etc are much appreciated, Thank you

  Hello. I was wondering if you might be able to confirm what the ford technician told me.  I have a 2010 3.5 tonne hi roof ford transit which has developed a worrying symptom. While heavy and trying to slow from motorway speeds, the brake pedal slowly travels down to the buklhead.

  Occasionaly I am getting the engine waringin light coming on, failry high mileage MK1 1.6 Ford Focus. On start all lights go out, occasioanly the light will come on and does not go off until the car is parked and restarted. It seems to run fine, and there is no difference engine running wise before its on or - when it comes on.

  Just bought a 55 plate ford ranger from a dodgy dealer, sold as a runner, but no warranty due to price. Problem drives fine up to 60 mph, when accelerating past this speed, engine starts to miss, vehicle has no more power, and, glow plug light comes on.

  Hi,can someone please give me some advise, My daughters Ford Fiesta Finesse 1998 1.3 has developed some strange starting problem. Heres whats happening, you can go to the car and put the key in the ignition and sometimes it will start no problem then the next time you go to it and try again it will not start, fiddled with the door locks and ignition and of it goes again, turned off and removed keys locked car.

  I took my Ford Focus to main dealer for a diagnostic. The car is having the following symptoms. Engine malfunction light comes on intermittently. Tends to come on when stopped with engine idling. It sometimes comes on and off driving at low speeds.

  I know all automatics "creep" as soon as you put them in gear - I've driven automatics for 20 years - but this is ridiculous! I've just bought a Ford Focus 1.6 Zetec 2009.   It pulls away the moment I put it in gear even on a hill.  On the level, it will bowl along at 10-15 mph without touching the accelerator! Standing outside the car while it's stationery, the revs sound on the high side to me.

  Hi there ! PROBELM: I´ve changed the batery and antenna of my 1999 1.3 Ford Ka model and after my radio model 6000 CD RDS EON just DOES  NOT PICK UP ANY RADIO SIGNAL !!! Can anyone help me with this ? I´ve already seen that this signal problem is usual but I haven´t found any solution for it .

  To my horror the light from oncoming cars, traffic lights and street lights were breaking up into pixels which distorted the view from my windscreen so much that I cannot drive safely at night. I complained to Ford who said they could not replace the heated windscreen but they would put a plain glass screen in, which would cost me £400 plus.One of the reasons I bought the car was because of the heated windscreen as many cars that I had purchased in the past had also.I would be interested in hearing from anyone who has had the same experience.

  Please help my galaxy was sold to me on the promise the stereo only needed a code to make it work. Today I went to 3 ford services and 1 independent who's key with teeth could not remove the stereo even slightly damaging it. They are saying the clips are broken slightly . Anyone know anyone in romford who can help ASAP or is it worth buying a whole new stereo but they may damage whole of dashboard and will that cost me mega loads ?
