  • How will I know when my 2002 Ford Mondeo requires a new dual mass flywheel? 17 May 2010 (Ask HJ)

  • Ford Ka (2008 - ) - 09 1.2 Water in the footwells&suicidal wiperblade 22 Mar 2010 (Forum)
If not already fuming about my 4th visit for a wiper blade, im outraged at this point. On the phone again, being passed to piller and post, stupid unhelpful ford service ppl tell me to bring my car in and say they have no courtesy cars to give me. Then my jack russel of a mum stepped in and did the shouty bit. Was finially told that its something to do with the bulkhead and the entire dash board has been stripped!?
  • Ford KA, KA2, KA3 - Ford Ka really low MPG 22 Mar 2010 (Forum)

  • Ford Fiesta (2009 - ) - Miles per gallon 26 Jan 2010 (Forum)
I thought it might be a problem with the computer itself so I filled up, noted the mileage and set off from Milton Keynes to Bristol and back and a fair bit of running round MK. Filling up again showed that I had achieved 44 mpg which I recon is pretty poor bearing in mind Fords claim. I generally keep within the speed limit, don't accelerate like a nutter and don't run around with a bag of cement in the boot so what's going wrong here? If I had bought the car with my own money could I take it back to Ford demanding my money back because there's no way this vehicle will achieve anything like the fuel consumption they claim?
  • Ford Focus II (2004 - 2007) - Service intervals, mislead by dealer? 22 Dec 2009 (Forum)
Hi all, Basically I am looking for a 2005-2006 high miler 2.0TDCI Titanium focus, found a lovely one at a car place near Barnsley, It had a 106,000 on the clock but apparently had a FSH, I got down there and it all seemed very nice, looked in the service book to see if it had the 100k timing belt change and its last service was at 87k, I then looked back at previous service stamps and it had only been serviced every 20k (there was one at 57k and 37k etc.) Now I thought they were 12.5K intervals but the sales guy was saying 'No no, I used to work for Ford, 20k intervals etc.') I left it anyway to have a think because I really liked the car and wanted to cool down before making any offers. I got home and checked with a local Ford main dealer and they said IT IS 12.5k and this guy was lying?
  • Ford Focus (1998 - 2004) - 02 1.8 damage during repair 6 Oct 2009 (Forum)
Dear Honest John, My Ford Focus (02) TDCi recently had to have a fuel pump, fuel filter and plugs replaced at a local Ford Dealership. My usual trusty mechanic couldn't deal with it due to it all being linked to the ECU. Anyway, 2 weeks later (last night) I picked up the car and immediately a noise and vibrating came from around the clutch area, specifically when the clutch was depressed in a low gear.
  • Ford Fiesta (2002 - 2008) - 03 1.4 TDCi - Vibrations while braking 7 Aug 2009 (Forum)
Firstly, since I've had the car there has been a noise every time I apply the brakes which sounds like the pads are slapping against the disks. A ford engineer told me that it is because the pads aren't original ford parts and that everything should be fine and the noise would have no consequence. Is this correct? The other issue is also to do with the brakes.
  • Ford Mondeo III (2000 - 2007) - 05 2.0 Second hand key identical to original! 28 Jul 2009 (Forum)
Now, given that that this key was bought from a random supplier off Ebay (it was used) then I'd like to know: How many key combinations do Ford produce, ie what are the chances of having an identical key supplied to me like this, it seems like a hell of a coincidence? How likely is it that someone could use their Ford key to get into my car and help themselves (even if the alarm goes off and they can't actually start it)?
  • Ford Focus (1998 - 2004) - Replacement car - suggestions? 23 Mar 2009 (Forum)
Hi all, Hoping you may be able to help me. I've finally decided to cut my losses and get rid of my terrible Ford Focus 1.8tdci estate. Since I've had it I've had problems with ecu/fuel injection (£1,100 quoted to fix), blocked injectors (£250 to fix), battery problems (£150) and now I've been told that it needs a new flywheel system and possibly a clutch (at least £700).
  • Ford Galaxy (2006 - ) - 07 1.8 Rear Door Handle & Trim Falling off 2 Jul 2008 (Forum)
Hello all, Just wanted to get your views regarding a problem with my Galaxy. I purchased the car about 8 weeks ago from a used ford dealer (the car was ex ford direct) and to my shock noticed today that both the rear door handle and external trim have broken off at one end (The trim runs under the rear door handle and spans the width of the door).
  • Ford Focus (1998 - 2004) - 2001 1.8TD estate. ABS problem 22 May 2008 (Forum)
It did not really surprise me that the ABS lights are still on, and its not working. I took it to a ford garage who tell me that their computer tells them that the module is faulty. This might be the case, but the supplier of the secondhand part are convinced it worked. (they have offered money back, and seem very resonable) The ford garage dont really want to look further.
  • Ford Fiesta (2002 - 2008) - REPAIRED-DAMAGE-Effect on Warranty 20 Mar 2008 (Forum)
This is about £2000 less than the car is worth prior to accident. I am not comftable with the idea of them repairing such extensive damage. Will the ford warrenty both body work and mechanicals still be valid? It is not currently at a ford delaear- can I insist that it goes there? Can I claim the reduction in value from the other driver as I will be left with an extensively repaired car rather than a pristine one (which we have had from new) so is worth less when resale comes to be considered.
  • Ford Fiesta 1.4 - strange noise 4 Jun 2007 (Forum)
I own a 9 month old Ford Fiesta 1.4 (left hand drive - as I am in Gibraltar) that was bought from the local Ford main dealer when new. Recently the car has started to make an unusual 'metallic sounding tick or click' in certain situations.
  • Ford Focus steering question 22 Mar 2007 (Forum)
I have a new petrol Ford Focus 1.8LX with standard steel wheels. It has a fair bit of vibration while driving at anything over 55mph. This can be felt through the steering wheel and the steering wheel can be seen to shake at times.
  • Mondeo Alloy Corrosion 5 Oct 2005 (Forum)
The paint on all the wheels is bubbling with corrosion and I could peel it off in sheets by pulling gently with one finger, leaving a powdery corroded bare alloy surface underneath. The Ford badges in the wheel centres are also white and discoloured with corrosion and quite unsightly. When I complained to the Ford main dealer where I get it serviced he said that the anti-corrosion warranty didn't cover it.
  • Ford Focus / FSH - Warranty 20 Mar 2005 (Forum)
They say it's fine, and that they'll service it free of charge, and that will put everything back in order. It won't affect the warranty. I then called Ford who say that there is a 1000 mile leeway (or 1 month) on the service intervals. Any more invalidates it, and it's only goodwill from them that i can rely on. As i bought he car via internet / phone, it's covered by distance selling laws.
  • Servicing my car 15 Dec 2004 (Forum)
Is the Ford main dealer service history worth keeping? I can't help thinking I'm just paying for nothing really and i'd be better off just changing the oil every 5k miles - coolant etc is the Ford 'long life' stuff that apparently never needs changing, it had new plugs at the last service, etc etc.
