Mansell’s F1 Williams to be auctioned at Festival of Speed 6 Feb 2019 (News)
The Williams-Renault FW14B Formula One car in which British racing driver Nigel Mansell won five Grand Prix races on his way to becoming 1992 Formula 1 World Champion Driver is to be offered by Bonhams at the Goodwood Festival of Speed Sale on 5 July 2019. This historic, sophisticated and complex F1 car contested 13 of that year’s 16 qualifying Grand Prix races, and was driven by World Champion Nigel Mansell in seven of them. -
Goodwood Revival 2014 to honour Sir Jackie Stewart 9 Aug 2014 (News)
Stewart’s sportscar successes will be represented by machinery as diverse as a Ford GT40, two open-topped Lola T70 Spyders and both Jaguar and Buick-engined Ecurie Ecosse Tojeiros that provided the platform for much of his early success, plus a sensational Ferrari 330 P4 he raced in 1967 as part of a squad of drivers that helped the Scuderia win that year’s World Sportscar Championship. Stewart will take part in each of the three parades. One will be held in the afternoon of each of the days of the 2014 Revival. -

Just nine examples of the GT Xylon were built by Marcos, the specialist sports car company founded in 1959 by racing driver Jem Marsh and engineer Frank Costin. This example (G128) is by far the most famous, having been first driven by Stewart in 1960. Scottish racing enthusiast Barry Filer was having his race cars prepared by the Stewart family garage and invited a young Jackie to test with him at Oulton Park. -

F1 engine builder Brian Hart dies aged 77 7 Jan 2014 (News)
F1 engine builder Brian Hart, the man who powered Ayton Senna to his first F1 podium - and a near-win at Monaco - in 1984, has died aged 77. Born in 1936, Hart started his career behind as a driver in the 1960s and enjoyed success in Formula Junior, F3 and F2. Hart’s best season came in 1967, with Frank Costin’s FVA-powered Protos, where he finished 10thin the 1967 European F2 Championship. -
Chevrolet Reveals 2011 BTCC Livery 26 Mar 2011 (News)
Built by RML, which also constructs and runs the title-winning Chevrolet World Touring Cars, the two new Cruzes will campaign in the 2011 BTCC series with the same successful driver line-up as 2010; driver’s champion Jason Plato and promising young gun, Alex MacDowall. The cars feature a bold new livery, consistent with that of the WTCC cars, and featuring prominent sponsorship from Silverline, as well as series sponsors Dunlop, Holiday Inn, Auto Express and Evo. -
Rally greats reunited at show 4 Jun 2015 (News)
David Blackhurst’s Ford Focus used in the 2001 World Cup Rally also made an appearance alongside Sheila Wright’s Land Rover that competed in the 2002 London to Athens World Cup and the London to Tunisia Rally. In addition, there were two of the cars belonging to the late Philip Young on display - the Magenta that he built for the 1977 London to Sydney, his first ever rally, and his 1986 MG Maestro that was used by Jane Edgington and Gill Cotton in the 2012 London to Cape Town Rally. -

F1 legends set for Silverstone Classic 3 Jul 2018 (News)
These include turbo-charged, V8 and V10-engined machines as raced in period by world champions Ayrton Senna, Jenson Button and Damon Hill. Already confirmed is a Toleman-Hart TG184 (pictured below) dating back to 1984, when a young Senna and Johnny Cecotto were the team’s drivers, to a Ferrari-powered Sauber C30 in which both Kamui Kobayashi and Sergio Perez scored world championship points during the 2011 F1 season. Grand Prix cars from BAR, Jordan and Lotus are also included in the line-up. -
‘F1’ plate on sale for £10m 8 Jul 2014 (News)
The ‘F1’ plate was previous registered to a Volvo S80 and owned by Essex County Council, but was sold by the council to raise money for training young drivers. Mr Kahn paid the council £400,000 for the plate - then a record - but now appears to be ready to cash in on his investment. Market experts Carreg.com are certain that £10m is achievable, but are undecided on how high the sky limit could be for a British registration mark. “Number ‘1’ plates have always been considered as the ultimate cherished numbers and are often the most valuable registration plates found on the market,” said Russell Palmer of Carreg.com. “Often these will command three or four times and sometimes greater the value of a corresponding single digit number plate bearing the same initials. -
