Formula Ford became the first stepping-stone in the early careers of many prospective Formula One drivers. World Champions such as James Hunt, Emerson Fittipaldi, Jody Scheckter, Nelson Piquet, Ayrton Senna, Nigel Mansell, Michael Schumacher, Damon Hill and Jenson Button all raced in Formula Ford.

  The Croft paddock will start to take shape from the Wednesday onwards with the first track action on the Friday (17 June) when practice sessions for the Ginetta and Renault categories are held. On the Saturday (18 June), the BTCC drivers will be first on track with their opening practice session at 09.30am. Sunday's (19 June) activities start at 10.00am with the driver autograph session prior to the day's first BTCC race at midday.

The BMW X5 also suffered from airbag problems, the driver knee airbag not deploying correctly in the frontal offset test and providing little additional protection to the driver’s legs. A similar issue was seen with the 5 Series in 2017.

There are numerous engines offered, which is a blessing for many buyers but a curse for young drivers, because insurance costs rise as engine capacity increases.   IAM Celebrates 60th Birthday with Party Event and Change of Name 6 Jul 2016 (News)
  IAM RoadSmart is the trading name of all businesses operated by the UK’s largest road safety charity, the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) and was formed in April 2016 combining the IAM, IAM Drive & Survive, PDS and IAM Driver Retraining Academy. The organisation has 92,000 members and campaigns on road safety on their behalf. At any one time there are over 7,000 drivers and riders actively engaged with IAM RoadSmart’s courses, from members of the public to company drivers, while our Driver Retraining Academy has helped 2,500 drivers to shorten their bans through education and support programmes.

  The Williams-Renault FW14B Formula One car in which British racing driver Nigel Mansell won five Grand Prix races on his way to becoming 1992 Formula 1 World Champion Driver is to be offered by Bonhams at the Goodwood Festival of Speed Sale on 5 July 2019. This historic, sophisticated and complex F1 car contested 13 of that year’s 16 qualifying Grand Prix races, and was driven by World Champion Nigel Mansell in seven of them.

  Goodwood Revival 2014 to honour Sir Jackie Stewart 9 Aug 2014 (News)
  Stewart’s sportscar successes will be represented by machinery as diverse as a Ford GT40, two open-topped Lola T70 Spyders and both Jaguar and Buick-engined Ecurie Ecosse Tojeiros that provided the platform for much of his early success, plus a sensational Ferrari 330 P4 he raced in 1967 as part of a squad of drivers that helped the Scuderia win that year’s World Sportscar Championship. Stewart will take part in each of the three parades. One will be held in the afternoon of each of the days of the 2014 Revival.
