  £2,500 bought a 2000X Honda Swindon Civic 1.4S which, at 179,000 miles single-handedly endorsed Honda’s reputation for longevity. £2,900 bought a 76k mile 2000W Peugeot 406 1.8LX. A 62k mile 2001/51 Vectra 1.8LS went for £5k; an 81k 99V Focus 2.0 Ghia for £4k; a 49k mile 2000X Volvo S40 SXS 115bhp for £5,850, a 49k mile 2000X Primera 1.8SE for just £2,525 and so on.

  Busy Day at Blackbushe Auctions 15 Aug 2003 (News)
  And compared to the buttons an 83k mile 99T Rover 75 CDT Club made on Wednesday, £8,000 for a 79k mile 2001Y was a lot of money. Even a rare 85k mile 2001Y Peugeot 607 2.2S manual made £6,250. While the fight for a 79k mile 2000W BMW 530d auto took it all the way to £13,900. But keep going regularly from now to mid September and, as long as the whole world doesn’t turn up with you, then with fleets and dealers clearing the ground for September, the willingness to let cars go for less can only increase.

  Plenty of Good Buys at Auction Today 9 Jul 2003 (News)
  A 63k mile 95N Rover 220Sli wasn’t going to break the bank at £500 provisional even if they wanted a couple of hundred more. A 132k mile 92J Peugeot 205 1.4GR was cheap wheels at £80. But, though in a different category altogether, cheapie of the day for me was an 11k mile 02 reg FIAT Punto Mia, sold for £500 under trade book at just £3,500.

  Topless Appearance at Auction Today 2 Jul 2003 (News)
  A brave new shape 2002/52 Megane 1.4 Dynamique 5-door with 9k miles sold for a serious £8,400. A 25k mile 2001/51 Passat 1.8T SE made a whopping £10,300. A 78K mile 2001Y Peugeot 406 1.8L in nice Diablo red metallic looked dear to me at £4,400. A 46k mile 98S Daewoo Nubira 2.0CDX auto also looked expensive at £2,450. While an old shape 74k 97R Astra 1.4LS 16v was far from cheap at £1,850.

  Today’s cheap cheapies included a 14k mile 2001/51 MG ZT190 (that’s the Rover 75 MG), sold for £11,500; a 64k mile 97R Jeep Cherokee Sport 2.5TD manual, sold for £5,450; a 96k mile 98S Rover 820Si, sold for £2,000; a 124k mile 92K BMW 520i auto, bid to £1,500; a 115k unwarranted 97R Peugeot 406 3.0GLX V6, sold for £1,325; a 78k mile 95M SEAT Cordoba 1.6CLX, sold for £1,200; and a 123k mile 96P Rover 420Sli bid to just £925. Anyone who hung around to mid afternoon might have picked up a cheap 2001Y Passat TDI PD 130SE because there were two of them with 83,387 and 90,755 on consecutive plates at the end of the Lex ex-lease section.

Remember, BCA Blackbushe has switched its Friday LCV sale to Thursdays, so Friday’s sale is now 3 halls of cars.

  Lively Auction For Late December Today 18 Dec 2002 (News)
  Spectacularly low provisional bids of the day included £7,300 for 12k mile 02 new-shape Primera 1.8S; £6,000 for the almost unsaleable 7,500 mile 2002/51 reg Lupo 1.4 TDI Sport in Fantasie Green (right car; wrong colour); and £5,300 for a 5k mile 2001Y Rover 25 1.8L Steptronic. But £10,250 provisional wasn’t as low as it seems for a 900 mile 02 Peugeot 206 2.0 litre Coupe Cabrio because it needed a lot of new panels at the front. A 5k mile 02 reg Golf TDI PD 130 5-door 6-speed (but with standard 195/65 rubber) bid to £12,700 and a 5k mile 52 reg Passat TDI PD 130 SE 5-speed bid to £14,550 which seemed a bit high to me because you can almost get a new one for that.

  New Micra Goes Coupe Cabriolet 17 Sep 2002 (News)
  So far, all Nissan is saying is that the Micra C+C will be an attention-grabbing concept car with a folding steel top like the Mercedes SLK and Peugeot CCs. The main emphasis will be on the 3-door and 5-door hatchbacks already on sale in Japan. Described by Shiro Nakamura, Nissan’s Senior Vice President of Design, as a ‘revolutionary evolution’ of the current Micra the new Micra, apparently keeps “the friendly allure of the current model”, but “shows a more assertive character”.

  Something for Everyone at Auction Today 10 Jul 2002 (News)
  Nissan was shifting 2000X Micra 1.0 S 3-doors with PAS for around £3,500. A 9,000 mile 2001/51 Peugeot 307 HDI 90 Rapier in a nice metallic orange bid to a strong £9,350. And a 47,000 mile 99S Focus 1.8LX in silver with a sunroof rather than aircon and no rust in the back window ‘V’ sold for a sensible £5,200.

  A pair of 98S Mazda MX5 1.8iS models with alloys bid to £10,550 for the 12,000 miler and £9,725 for the 18,000 miler. A bright metallic blue 48,000 mile 98S Peugeot 306 1.6LX with a/c kicked off at £3,000 but went on to sell for £4,550. A 53,000 mile 99V Golf GTi 1.8T 3-door sold for a resounding £10,400. £12,200 wasn't enough for a 59,000 mile 2000W Audi A3 1.8T Quattro with no sign of the essential rear suspension repair.

  Over in the Lex sale, spectacular bargains included a 52k mile 05 Mitsubishi Lancer 1.6 auto station wagon sold for £3,000, a 30k mile 05 Porsche Boxster 987 2.7 Tiptronic S, gone for £17,700, a 35k mile Audi A6 3.0TDI V6 quattro Avant auto, knocked down at £16,000, a 6k mile 2007/57 Honda Civic Type R with a/c for £11,800, a 42k mile 2005/55 Mercedes C220CDI AvantGarde auto for £9,900, a 62k mile 07 Peugeot 407 2.0HDI 136 SW for £4,900. There were no bids at all for a ‘Lever Espana’ (Manuel) 171k mile 2002/52 BMW 525iSE Touring that the auctioneer tried to start at £3,000.
