Tax Break Bargains at Auction Today 31 Oct 2007 (News)
Someone bid £1,500 for a 104k-mile 99S VVC, and quite a nice 59k mile 97R plain 1.8 sold for £1,675. There were plenty of other cheap cars at all levels. Change-of-reg part exchanges seem to have filtered through late this year because too many new cars were chasing too few buyers, and buyers held out until October for better deals. A 59k mile 2002/52 BMW 318i 2.0 convertible was £1,500 under mileage-adjusted book, selling at £10,175. -

Aftermarket Stop Start improves economy up to 25% 12 Sep 2010 (News)
CPT is also involved in hybrid and electric vehicle developments, but in the short term sees stop-start as the most likely near term technology to enter the automotive mainstream and anticipates it becoming a standard fitment on virtually all vehicles, especially for tackling congested urban environments where the fuel and CO 2 benefits can be significant. Stop-start technology currently accounts for less than 5 per cent of new car sales, but will increasingly be offered by car makers until a 90 per cent standard fit, says the CO 2 reduction specialist. CPT is an up-and-coming high tech company specialised in developing cost-effective fuel and CO 2 reduction measures for the global automotive industry. -
Used Prices Still Reluctant to Slip at Auction 16 Oct 2009 (News)
Obviously the fleets are still resisting lowering reserves. And, for whatever reason, we are seeing some very desirable nearly new cars at auction. But generally prices are still holding despite an uneasy feeling among dealers that they have to drop soon at what is, traditionally, the low point of the year. -

Auction Report Double Bill – eBay 8th May 2005 11 May 2005 (News)
eBay comes up with some oddities occasionally. When Volvo tried to shed its dowdy image in the early 90s it went touring car racing with the then-new 850 T5 estate. This car caused a stir which was heightened by Clarkson driving it through a quarry with bonfires everywhere. A very well cared version of the cream yellow T5R estate was sold for a lot of money on the bank holiday. -

Nick Smith MP Battles the Private Parking Scamdal 16 Apr 2014 (News)
Nick Smith MP says the business model of some operators is based on motorists ‘making mistakes’ so they can be fleeced for an alleged breach of car park ‘rules’. These include machines requiring the driver to key in his registration accurately, ticket dispensing machines that fail to dispense tickets, and installing payment machines in places that force drivers to park in order to use them, even if no parking spaces are left. -
