Organisers of the 2009 London Motorexpo have unveiled details of this summer’s Canary Wharf event – which takes place from Monday 8th to Sunday 14th June 2009 and is completely free for the public to attend.

In the face of the economic downturn and within the worst automotive market for over fifty years; the free to visit London Motorexpo has continued to develop following the success of its 2008 event and built on its core hub of manufacturers. For 2009, the 14th annual Canary Wharf London Motorexpo, show exhibitors cover the full range of the automotive spectrum with luxury brands including Aston Martin, Bentley and Porsche displaying alongside the heavyweight German brands of BMW and Mercedes-Benz.

Amongst the wide range of cars and motorbikes on display, a total of 13 new vehicles will make their UK debut. This list includes:
Aprilia RSV4 Factory
two new Aston Martins in the form of the V12 Vantage and DBS Volante
Jaguar’s all-new XFR and XKR
New Mercedes-Benz E-Class.
Land Rover will present its full 2010 model year line-up
BMW has confirmed it will have on display, in an exclusive viewing area, a recently announced new car that has not yet received its full public debut.
Cadillac and Corvette will use the London event to showcase the CTS-V and ZR1 respectively, the fastest vehicles that the brands have ever produced
Other confirmed manufacturers include:
and Saab – which will be showcasing its all-new 9-3X for the first time anywhere in the UK.

Manufacturers have also increased the Motorexpo’s interactive appeal for this year with a record number of test drive opportunities on offer to visitors.

Highlights will include the all new BMW Z4, Land Rover’s Freelander 2 TD4_e (the world’s first SUV featuring intelligent Stop/Start technology) and Driving Experience, Volvo’s XC60 featuring their City Safety collision avoidance system and the Tesla Roadster, the most efficient high performance production sports car on the planet.

Motorexpo’s London home - the Canary Wharf estate - boasts over 200 cafés, shops, bars and restaurants which, in addition to the good travel links in operation, ensure that a visit to the 2009 London Motorexpo will be a free, relaxed, and enjoyable experience for all the family.

Graeme Carver, Motorexpo Managing Director said; “I am delighted, particularly in the current climate, that we have received such strong support from manufacturers for this year’s London Motorexpo. The credit crunch has resulted in an extremely painful automotive market and made the creation of our 2009 Canary Wharf event the most difficult show to organise since it launched back in 1996. However, one of the key factors to our continued development appears to have been the Motorexpo’s different format, which was created here in London and has now withstood the economic acid-test, which gives us a good platform for the future”.

The 2009 Canary Wharf London Motorexpo will be open from Monday 8th to Saturday 13th June from 10am to 6pm and on Sunday 14th June from 11am to 5pm. The event is entirely free for the public to attend and copies of The Directory 2009, the official Motorexpo show guide, are available for free on arrival while stocks last.
