Goodwood Festival of Speed: Supercars to take centre stage 5 Jul 2013 (News)
An eclectic collection of supercars will take centre stage at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed - on 11- 14 July - with the return of the Michelin Supercar Run. Around 75 of the latest and greatest sports cars will be in action over the weekend and there'll be world debuts for the McLaren P1, Vencer Sarthe and Alfa Romeo 4C. Each of the 75 supercars will be driven up the world famous 1.16-mile hill as manufacturers make their final preparations to unleash their automotive exotica to the masses. -
Goodwood Festival of Speed: Honda's racing line-up 5 Jul 2013 (News)
Visitors to the Festival will also be able to try out one of Honda’s All Terrain Vehicles on a specially designed course and have a go on two-wheels with the Honda motorcycle MotoX experience. Both these activities will be running between 9.00am-5.00pm on all four days of the event, and are free of charge. Look out for interviews with famous faces and behind the scenes footage at all Honda areas throughout the Festival. -

New battery tech to improve EV range 22 Sep 2011 (News)
One of the biggest problems with electric cars is so-called range anxiety. EVs can only usually travel around 100 miles before they run out of juice, and charging them is a long-winded process when you find a place to do it. But as with all technology, there’s a constant drive for improvement and a consortium led by advanced battery manufacturer Axeon has developed a new type of battery that goes some way towards removing the limitations associated with pure EVs. -

National Motor Museum to host largest ever exhibition of James Bond vehicles 12 Aug 2011 (News)
The National Motor Museum, Beaulieu will next year stage the largest exhibition of James Bond vehicles ever displayed to celebrate 50 years of the film franchise. It will run for the whole of 2012 and will include some of the most fanmous cars from the films, inlcuingthe 2002 Jaguar XKR with SFX weapons from Die Another Day, the 1964 Aston Martin DB5 from Goldeneye and the 1937 Phantom lll Rolls-Royce from Goldfinger. -
Car care specialist has stock stolen 10 Aug 2011 (News)
Gribben posted an update on his Twitter feed and on the website to let customers know that he is, currently, out of business and unable to fulfil any orders. The website he runs normally sells everything necessary for cleaning, polishing and perfecting a car, from microfiber cloths to the most extravagant of waxes. Volkswagen to increase use of plug-in hybrid tech 9 May 2011 (News)

Following HA advice could protect cheap car insurance premiums 21 Aug 2009 (News)
It issued this plea in light of new figures that have shown - between July 1st 2008 and June 30th 2009 - an average of 43 motorists a day had to be rescued from English motorways after letting their tanks run dry. The body described the statistics as "alarming". Director of network operations Derek Turner said: "It's not only hazardous to the driver and passengers, but to other road users as well, especially if the vehicle has to stop in a live lane. -
Honda Insight 'is a cost-effective company car' 14 Aug 2009 (News)
It made this comment as it launched a new online calculator, which allows drivers to compare whole-life running costs for a variety of UK models. The tool shows people how much they are likely to spend over three years or 60,000 miles. It found businesses operating within the London congestion charging zone could save £9,153 by opting for the Honda Insight over other comparable models. -
Car buyers may back call for scrappage extension 4 Aug 2009 (News)
People planning on buying a car before the end of the year may welcome calls for the scrappage scheme to be extended. The publisher Glass's has warned funding for the cash for bangers initiative could run out by October if the government does not set aside extra money. It claimed this could prove to be a big problem for the automotive industry. The group explained there are currently approximately 13,500 scrappage orders for new cars every week in the UK. -
Nissan deal 'better than official scrappage scheme offers' 2 Jul 2009 (News)

Scrappage scheme participants 'may be in the money' 24 Jun 2009 (News)
Adrian Rushmore, managing director with the group, explained: "The potential profit is greatest for those cars where the nearly-new value is currently high in relation to the list prices – notably small, affordable cars with low running costs." In light of this, scrappage scheme buyers were advised they could make as much as £1,100 by selling on models like the latest Ford Fiesta, Citroen C1 and Fiat 500.
