  Sebastien Loeb Gets FTD at Goodwood Festival of Speed 30 Jun 2014 (News)
  With a time of 44.6 seconds, Sebastien Loeb was quickest up the hill in his Pikes Peak Peugeot 208 T16 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed Sunday Shoot Out. This was despite short gearing that meant he was hitting the rev limiter by the bridge opposite the house and on the final straight, limiting his maximum speed to 145mph.  Watched by more than 3,000 people on a delayed 'live stream' (and thousands more live on Sky TV) he beat Michael Bartels Maserati MC12 with a time of 45.82, Kenny Brack's McLaren F1 GTR 'Long Tail' at 47.52 and rising star, 23 year old Jann Mardenborough from Darlington in a Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 with a time of 48.05.

  While the show has got bigger and better over the years, one thing that hasn’t changed is the ardent support of the enthusiasts and owners clubs who pour through the NEC’s doors each November. 2013 marks the 30thanniversary of the Peugeot 205 and Club Peugeot UK will be celebrating this with a range of 205s on their stand, including a five-door GT and, the ultimate 205, the T16. The T16 was an 80s rally legend and its Group B rivals are set to start at the show too, with Club Audi’s stand featuring a whole host of Quattros, including a 1983 URquattro and a limited edition 1985 short wheelbase Sport Quattro.

  Many mainstream manufacturers are now pushing their pure electric models, with Mitsubishi ,  Peugeot , Citroen and Nissan all now selling electric vehicles, or EVs. People anxious about the range of electric vehicles will almost certainly be concerned by the lack of charging points, and this news may well have an adverse effect on the popularity of pure EVs.

  On Wednesday 25th February Darren will be broadcasting live from car dealerships, and speaking to industry experts from around the UK On Friday 27th February he will be live from the Opel car factory in Russelsheim in Germany, as well as speaking to executives at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. On Monday 3rd March he will be visiting a Peugeot car factory town in France, before broadcasting live from Geneva on the eve of the international motor show.
