  • BMW M3 - Bought used car, in need of undisclosed repairs 16 Nov 2016 (Forum)
Then I asked about each individual part that I had found had an issue. They told me everything was in fine condition (tyres, brakes, diff, engine (no leaks)). (I have photos taken on Tuesday proving otherwise) Now the total cost for rear diff parts, engine parts, brakes and tyres comes to 796.51, not including total of 551.00 labour charge.
  • SLK 2012 11 Jun 2019 (Forum)
Warning of defective rear indicator bulb with the dash showing very rapid speed but the actual lights are working normally but on the brake lights. Was told the whole unit needed changing but just using the hazard section seems to have cured it.

  • Hyundai i800 - Squeeking hyundai 4 Feb 2021 (Forum)
As soon as any steering input to go even slightly right is applied, it's there. It even does it when parking it!    I've tried putting the brakes on at the same time as when its squeeking and it doesnt stop it - it also passed its mot  2 weeks ago so I doubt it's the pads sticking. The squeek gets faster the more to the right I go.    It is kicking the ABS in at very low speeds and very light brake pressure, but there is no warning light.

  • Volkswagen Lupo - Rattling from engine at idle 8 Mar 2017 (Forum)
Slightly dirty smell comes through the vents at times, also mainly at idle. I've not got the best sense of smell so can't work out if it's a burning or exhaust smell. 3. Brake lights have failed twice, giving an EPC warning. Replaced brake light switch at an independent garage but failed again a few days later. Not sure if garage did a bodge job or it's something more.
  • Vauxhall Omega - Accelerator return spring. 29 Sep 2016 (Forum)
Due to circomstances I have had my Omega adapted to hand controls. The hand control rods are fitted to the brake and accelerator pedals close to the pivot points.  Just like any other automatic the car creeps when the brakes are off. The hand control to accelerate is pulled upwards allthough the conecting rod to pedal actualy presses down on the pedal arm but I find the action very stiff and the car jumps forward instead of picking up speed smoothly.
  • Any - Torque converter autos-waiting at junctions etc 25 Aug 2016 (Forum)
When you have to stop for a couple of minutes at a junction, general traffic etc, do you put your car into N or just leave it in D and hold the brake? I had always thought that it did more wear to switch an autobox in and out of D than to simply hold the brake with it in D, seeing as the torque converter can slip almost infinitely without additional wear unlike a normal clutch.

Other than the brakes I notice no difference at all in the car. I've had the whole clutch system redone recently. Many thanks all
