Renault Scenic (2003 - 2009) - 04 1.9dci Performance problems at start up 9 Nov 2012 (Forum)
Hi my name is Kenny . I have a renault scenic 1.9dci and recently it has developed a fault which is as follows - After start up first thing in the morning, the car is very sluggish as it accelerates thru the gears (virtually no pulling power for a 120bhp engine) when it reaches 2500 revs in either 3rd or 4th, a warning light will appear on the dash "CHECK INJECTORS". -

Renault Clio II - Compensation/Repair 7 Mar 2011 (Forum)
I brought a 10 year old car 3 months ago and have just had it MOT'd. Been told there was a fault with the ABS light needed to invesitgated. I paid Renault £95.94 for the testing and they have said that someone has removed the instrument cluster and messed about behind it and the instrument cluster needs to be replaced at a cost of £389.57. -
'99 Megane 1.6 - Renault Megane '99 Intermittent Immobiliser failur 23 Jan 2011 (Forum)
I've got a rather perplexing issue with a Renault immobilizer. After unlocking the doors using the key fob, and before the immobiliser light starts blinking I put the key in the ignition and the immobiliser kicks in. But this is intermittent, as I can cycle the ignition and it will work on the 4, 5th or 6th time. -
Renault Vel Satis 3.0V6DCi - What to do if car I bought has a major fault with 2 Jul 2010 (Forum)
I bought a 2002 Renault Vel Satis 3.0ltr DCi in January and all seemed ok until I drove a long distance in the car last month. After about 40 miles, the temperature gauge shot up to maximum and I was told to STOP THE CAR. -
Renault Espace (2002 - ) - 05 2.2 Grand Espace - electrical 16 Sep 2009 (Forum)
Wish I'd done a bit more research (eg Googled "Espace problems") before buying 2005 2.2dci from a crook last November but.... Already been through the usual cracked inlet manifold at 70k miles - fixed by Renault France - and all has been fine for 12k since then and I do like the car. Now couple of dashboard issues I'm hoping you guys might be able to help with: The car lives in the Alps during the winter and when it is very cold (less than -6 degrees say) both ESP and ABS lights are illuminated on starting - which is a bit disconcerting on icy roads! -
Renault Espace (2002 - ) - 04 3.0 help fast!!! engine not cooling well 25 Aug 2009 (Forum)
Its getting rid of it fast under load (ie MWay driving) but not from anywhere else, just the filler cap. its on tight and im assured its not faulty. Renault garage (and im in cz rep on hols so its all going through the wife as translator.....) cannot find a fault yet as its not actually leaking from anywhere when cold but they seem rather keen to change the cylinder head etc. -

hi all. i have a renault clio, cambelt snapped, bent 2 valves, done all and refit all, all worked fine until i noticed the directional arrows on the cambelt were going the wrong way upon engine running! so i opted to remove cambelt and put back on correct way, wish i never! -
Renault Espace (1985 - 1997) - 94 2.0 Engine loses power for a second or two 12 Jul 2009 (Forum)
(It's rather off-putting to drive, not knowing whether 0-40 mph will take 10 seconds or 14 seconds.) This model uses Renault's "J7R" engine. -
Renault Laguna II (2001 - 2007) - 02 1.9tdci - never again 4 Feb 2009 (Forum)
Trade in value is only £2100, so I sold it to the garage for £300. Now gone back to the trusted Mondeo...will never have a renault again ever.... I surgest people dont touch them, unless you have a never ending pit of money -
Renault Megane II (2002 - 2008) - 05 1.9dci starting and then cutting out 3 Oct 2008 (Forum)
It may be me but the last few weeks it does seem to have been turning over slightly longer before it fires up. When I bought the car about 3000 miles ago it had a stamp in the book from a non-Renault Dealer, I changed the oil anyway and have also changed all the glow plugs. It did this once before about 2 months ago but it was facing up a very steep hill and it rained like a monsoon that night so shrugged it off Would cleaning the EGR valve have any benefit (I know I should have done this anyway /slaps wrist!) -
Renault Laguna (1994 - 2001) - 95 2.0 M Reg - Weird wiring explanation 21 Sep 2008 (Forum)
Hi all Migrated from Citroen Xantia to a Renault Laguna. Its a piece of junk but for some reason I actually rather like it. With winter closing in I'd like to get the heater fan going. Zero response when you twist the fan. I've read enough on the forum to find out when the fan motor is, and I've ripped it out to test (its by the PC as I type). -
Renault Clio II (2001 - 2007) - 01 1.2 cutting out at junctions etc 18 Sep 2008 (Forum)

Vauxhall Vectra C (2002 - 2008) - 1.9 CDTi Opinions 26 Feb 2008 (Forum)
Well, after 6 months of suffering the botch job Renault call the Megane I've decided to ditch it and go for something mainstream and easy to live with. I've seen a few 2004 model Vectra 1.9 CDTis which come into my bduget at around £6-6.5 which is what I reckon my 2005 Megane 1.6 is worth (if anyone buys it!) -
Renault Megane 1.4 overheating 19 Mar 2007 (Forum)
I recently purchased a renault megane 1.4 Rt, with 65k (serviced and 12 months mot). It's been running fine, but today I went to pick a friend up from the airport, and the cars temperature was very high after getting home after about 2 1/2 hours. -
Renault Megane W reg ABS problem. 2 Jan 2007 (Forum)
Renault Megane W reg ABS problem. This is a friends (1.6 petrol) car. The problem started with the ABS light illuminating permanently on a journey. Investigation revealed a blown 5 amp fuse. This was replaced and at first the system seemed ok with the ABS light illuminating initially then extinguishing. -
Espace 2.2 dCi Won't start 6 Apr 2006 (Forum)
02 plate grand espace - there's nothing grand about it apart from the repair bills and the rip off approach the Renault Dealer takes. Currently the thing refuses to start. It turns over but won't fire. There's fuel up to the injectors but they don't appear to be doing anything. The garage I normally use (not a dealer) couldn't get any fault codes on his diagnostic equipment so resorted to towing it to Renault Dealer. -
Espace diesel problems 29 Aug 2005 (Forum)
Few things straight Software updates come out occasionaly so any info you hear about it will be mostly rubbish. We know what renault are doing so please be patient and don't have a go at us because if we were not here who would fix your cars!!! To all the loyal and patient customers of renault I appoligise and understand how you feel but we are working as hard as we can. -
Renault's insane design 12 May 2005 (Forum)
No trick - the whole inlet manifold has to come off to change the plugs (and you need the dexterity of a circus monkey) - book time is 3.5 hours! At typical dealer labour rates that around £250 + parts to change the plugs! Nice one Renault! I don't think I'll be doing it. -
Renault Megane Scenic 98 model 27 Feb 2005 (Forum)
Yesterday there was a bang from under the bonnet (which may have been from the LPG) the car lost power when going uphill. when listening to the engine there was a knocking noise. the breakdown service removed the plugs and found that no 1 plug had metal between the electrode this was removed and regapped bit the noise was still there (The car was recovered to a Renault Dealers (Bad Move) and they advised it would be £43 for an inspection to investigate the fault. The Garage phoned to say that they needed further investigation time and that it would br £70 per hour and they wanted authorisation for 2 hours.
