Cheapo Lupo

Wed, 21 Feb 2001
VW has added alloy wheels and cut the price of its entry level Lupo model.

At a price of £7,195 on the road with a three year mechanical and twelve year body warranty, the car is priced at £245 less than the Lupo 1.0E on which it is based and benefits from the addition of Votex alloy wheels with anti-theft bolts which would normally cost an extra £300.

Standard equipment includes power steering, driver and passenger airbags, electronic engine immobiliser, height-adjustable steering wheel and drivers seat, split folding rear seats, Isofix child seat mountings and internally adjustable door mirrors. The 50bhp 1.0 litre engine also delivers 63lb ft torque, returns 48.7 mpg on the combined cycle and emits just 139g/km CO2 which puts it into VED band A of £100 a year.
