Citroen C5 1.8 2003 - Citroen C5 Dashboard illumination - dukebox74

Can anyone help?

CITROEN C5 1.8 2003

When I turn the car lights on at night my dashboard illumination comes on for about 20secs but then goes off. I have checked the connections at the back of the dash and they are fine. Not sure if it is related but the LCD display in the centre planel is also not working as it only displays two black lines when any door is opened.

Any ideas would be gratefully recieved
