vw lt35 tdi - power steering non existant - agilitymad

the power steering has gone very heavy on me in the van the resivour with the power steering fluid in it is still full so has the pump gone and is this classed as an mot failure, if the pump has gone how much am i expecting to pay for a new one and getting it fitted

Is the drive belt still on, this is assuming it is a mechanical pump not an electric one. Regards Peter

its most likly the power steering pump gone or possible rack but they can be fixd quite cheap with power steering services check them out

Hi I have had this same problem on my 06 lt35 no power steering I took it today to have new pump fitted but still no joy. My tyre pressure is all fine and correct. Any ideas ??

Is there any fluid pumping round the system? Usually you can tell by looking in the reservoir cap with the system running - you should be able to discern the fluid flowing.

Is there any assistance in either direction?

Sounds suspiciously like a blockage in th evalve block (or a valve stuck shut). How much trouble is it to drop the rack out on one of these?
